[Drug sensitivity of Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis].
Drug-sensitivity of 70 strains of Y. enterocolitica and 24 of Y. pseudotuberculosis including reference strains and isolates from men or animals were determined by the agar plate-dilution method. All the strains of Y. enterocolitica were relatively resistant to penicillins and cephalosporins, while all of Y. pseudotuberculosis were sensitive to both of

Gasdermin‐Mediated Pyroptosis: Novel Strategies Against Colorectal Cancer
Pyroptosis is a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer (CRC): chronic low‐grade pyroptosis promotes tumor progression, whereas acute induction of pyroptosis in cancer cells triggers antitumor immunity and enhances therapeutic response. Targeting gasdermin‐mediated pyroptosis represents a promising strategy for CRC treatment.

Vectors and Vector‐Borne Diseases: Biology, Epidemiology and Integrated Control Strategies
ABSTRACT Vector‐Borne Diseases (VBDs), transmitted by arthropods such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and sandflies, represent a significant threat to global health. These diseases can be caused by a variety of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and helminths.

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY ON YERSINIOSIS IN PEDIATRIC ACUTE DIARRHEA [PDF]
Yersiniosis is considered one of the most important bacterial foodborne infections as their incidence among humans had increased dramatically. A total of one hundred and fifty random samples were collected from children with acute diarrhea.

ABSTRACT Ectoparasites that penetrate host skin can act as biological or mechanical vectors for pathogens and, in some cases, serve as reservoirs. Crustacean ectoparasites of fish are potential vectors of pathogens, which is especially relevant for obligate pathogens (e.g., Aeromonas salmonicida) with limited seawater survival. Sea lice (Lepeophtheirus

THERMAL INACTIVATION OF YERSINIA ENTEROCOLITICA IN MILK AND ITS SURVIVAL IN YOGHURT [PDF]
Thermal inactivation of Yersinia enterocolitica in milk revealed that Yersinia enterocolitica was destroyed at 62°C after one minute of exposure, at 60°C.

Homology Analysis of Pathogenic Yersinia Species Yersinia enterocolitica, Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, and Yersinia pestis Based on Multilocus Sequence Typing [PDF]
ABSTRACT We developed a multilocus sequence typing (MLST) scheme and used it to study the population structure and evolutionary relationships of three pathogenic Yersinia species. MLST of these three Yersinia species showed a complex of two clusters, one composed of ...

Host tissue cues including temperature, oxygen, and iron availability regulate expression of the Yersinia type III secretion system (T3SS) master regulator LcrF. We found that CpxR inhibits LcrF through an indirect, multi‐factorial mechanism and identified the osmolarity‐sensing OmpR/EnvZ system as an additional regulator of LcrF, highlighting ...

Transfer of the virulence plasmid of Yersinia pestis to Yersinia pseudotuberculosis [PDF]
Transposon Tn5 insertion derivatives of the virulence plasmid pYV019 of Yersinia pestis were transferred by P1 transduction into a plasmid-free strain of Y. pseudotuberculosis. One of these plasmid derivatives conferred virulence upon the Y. pseudotuberculosis strain.
