Genome‐Wide In Silico Analysis of the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) Within the Morganella Genus
▪ Species‐specific T6SS patterns among Morganella genus (M. morganii and M. sibonii). ▪ Only one‐third of M. morganii isolates haboured a T6SS. ▪ All M. sibonii possess four T6SS clusters. ▪ M. sibonii exhibited a wide diversity of effectors compared to M. morganii.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is increasingly used. However, no systematic approach exists to assess infectious risks after FMT, leading to underreporting. We evaluated infectious complications at the Netherlands Donor Feces Bank (NDFB) and proposed a structured biovigilance approach aligned with the EU Regulation

ABSTRACT This study presents the first description and characterisation of Lactococcus garvieae isolated from diseased European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) farmed in Spain. During autumn 2023, two fish farms were affected by infectious outbreaks causing moderate cumulative fish mortality (5%–10%). Diseased fish showed clinical signs of haemorrhagic

Recombinant YopE and LcrV vaccine candidates protect mice against plague and yersiniosis
No licensed vaccine exists for the lethal plague and yersiniosis. Therefore, a combination of recombinant YopE and LcrV antigens of Yersinia pestis was evaluated for its vaccine potential in a mouse model.

Enteritis in cattle due to Yersinia pseudotuberculosis infection [PDF]
SUMMARY: A selective medium was used to isolate Yersinia sp from the intestinal tract of 222 scouring cattle in Gippsland during 1985 and 1986. Intestinal infection with Y. pseudotuberculosis, particularly of serotype III, was found to be especially prevalent in weaned calves, yearlings and young adult cattle.

Genome-Scale Mapping Reveals Complex Regulatory Activities of RpoN in
RpoN, an alternative sigma factor commonly known as σ54, is implicated in persistent stages of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis infections in which genes associated with this regulator are upregulated. We here combined phenotypic and genomic assays to provide

Monitoring of gene expression in bacteria during infections using an adaptable set of bioluminescent, fluorescent and colorigenic fusion vectors. [PDF]
A family of versatile promoter-probe plasmids for gene expression analysis was developed based on a modular expression plasmid system (pZ). The vectors contain different replicons with exchangeable antibiotic cassettes to allow compatibility and ...
