Yield Components and Efficiency Index of Maize Yield: Relationship to Yields in Tidal Fields

open access: yesJurnal Lahan Suboptimal : Journal of Suboptimal Lands, 2021
Identification of the advantages of hybrid maize lines is needed to support the increased production and development of maize in tidal fields. This study aimed to identify the agronomic characters and yield components of hybrid maize lines/varieties and their relationship with high yield and efficient fertilization in tidal fields.  The design used was

Feature Products Yield Efficient Networks

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
We introduce Feature-Product networks (FP-nets) as a novel deep-network architecture based on a new building block inspired by principles of biological vision. For each input feature map, a so-called FP-block learns two different filters, the outputs of which are then multiplied.

Efficient Yield Optimization with Limited Gradient Information

open access: yes, 2022
In this work an efficient strategy for yield optimization with uncertain and deterministic optimization variables is presented. The gradient based adaptive Newton-Monte Carlo method is modified, such that it can handle variables with (uncertain parameters) and without (deterministic parameters) analytical gradient information.

Competition yields efficiency in load balancing games [PDF]

open access: yesPerformance Evaluation, 2011
We study a nonatomic congestion game with N parallel links, with each link under the control of a profit maximizing provider. Within this 'load balancing game', each provider has the freedom to set a price, or toll, for access to the link and seeks to maximize its own profit. Given prices, a Wardrop equilibrium among users is assumed, under which users

An efficient method for parametric yield gradient estimation [PDF]

open access: yesISCAS'99. Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems VLSI (Cat. No.99CH36349), 2003
A novel method to improve the yield gradient estimation in parametric yield optimization is proposed. By introducing some deterministic information into the conventional Monte Carlo method and fully utilizing the samples, it is possible to obtain yield gradient estimation with significantly smaller variance.

Bio-chemical properties and susceptibility to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora Burrill) of scab-resistant apple cultivars (Malus domestica Borkh.)

open access: yesFolia Horticulturae, 2019
The focus of our research was to evaluate different apples cultivars in terms of their biological properties and bioactive compounds content, and determine the levels of their resistance (or susceptibility) to fire blight.

First results of an orchard trial with new clonal sweet cherry rootstocks at Holovousy

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2004
Ten clonal dwarf or semi-dwarf sweet cherry rootstocks were evaluated for 5 growing seasons in a orchard that was established in the spring 1999 at Holovousy within international cherry rootstock trials that are co-ordinated in Europe by the Danish ...

The effect of rootstock on apple tree bearing stability in a cooler climate

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 2016
The effect of rootstock on apple yield, productivity and alternate bearing was investigated at the Institute of Horticulture, Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry during a six-year period in a full bearing orchard.

WATER MANAGEMENT FOR APPLE TREES UNDER DRIP IRRIGATION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Production, 2000
Four drip irrigation treatments were used in a four years old apple orchard during 1997-1998 season at Khatatba, Menofia Governorate to determine the effect of water amounts on growth, yield, fruit quality and water use efficiency by apple trees.
