Comparison of Gut Microbiota and Metabolic Characteristics Between Miechongshu-Treated and Untreated Yili Horses. [PDF]

open access: yesAnimals (Basel)
Anthelmintic treatment is widely used in equine health management to control parasitic infections; however, its potential effects on the gut microbiota and metabolic characteristics remain poorly understood. In this study, twelve Yili horses were randomly assigned to two groups: a control group (C), which received no anthelmintic treatment, and a ...

Plasma Lipidomics and Proteomics Analyses Pre- and Post-5000 m Race in Yili Horses. [PDF]

open access: yesAnimals (Basel)
The impact of exercise on human metabolism has been extensively studied, yet limited research exists on the effects of high-intensity racing on equine metabolism. The aim of this study was to screen the effect of a 5000 m race on lipids and proteins in the plasma of Yili horses for the breeding of racehorses.

Identification of vaccine candidates against rhodococcus equi by combining pangenome analysis with a reverse vaccinology approach

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Rhodococcus equi (R. equi) is a zoonotic opportunistic pathogen that can cause life-threatening infections. The rapid evolution of multidrug-resistant R. equi and the fact that there is no currently licensed effective vaccine against R.

Integrating miRNA, mRNA, and Targeted Metabolomics Analyses to Explore the Regulatory Mechanism of Cardiac Remodeling in Yili Horses. [PDF]

open access: yesBiology (Basel)
Training not only enhances the athletic performance of horses but also improves cardiac structure and function, strengthens cardiovascular adaptability, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. However, the consequences of training on equine cardiac structure and function remain unclear.

Genome-wide analysis reveals signatures of selection for gait traits in Yili horse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Abstract High quality gaits play an important role in many breeding programs, but the genes of gait were limited at the moment. Here, we present an analysis of genomic selection signatures in 53 individuals from two breeds, using genotype data from the Affymetrix Equine 670K SNP genotyping array.

Comparative analysis of blood whole transcriptome profiles in Yili horses pre- and post-5000-meter racing. [PDF]

open access: yesFront Genet
This study employed Yili horses participating in a 5000-meter race as a model to investigate exercise-induced gene expression alterations in peripheral blood using whole transcriptome sequencing. Jugular vein blood samples from the three leading horses were collected pre- and immediately post-race, yielding 2,171 differentially expressed mRNAs (2,080 ...

Absolute Quantitative Lipidomics Reveals Differences in Lipid Compounds in the Blood of Trained and Untrained Yili Horses. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Sci
The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between blood lipid levels and the differences in cardiac structure and function of trained and untrained Yili horses as related to exercise performance. We utilized quantitative lipidomics technology to elucidate how the differences in lipid compounds in the blood influenced performance ...

Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Transformations under Soybean as Influenced by Organic Farming

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 110, Issue 5, Page 1883-1892, September–October 2018., 2018
Organic farming significantly increased or improved many soil properties, including the mean weight diameter of aggregates, soil organic matter, available N, soil microbial diversity, and soil C and N transformation rates. Soybean yield was also 13.7 % greater in the organic farming treatment than in conventional farming treatment.
