Adaptable Covalent Organic Framework‐Hydrogel Microneedles for Glucose‐Responsive Isoliquiritigenin Delivery in Diabetic Wound Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a covalent organic framework‐loaded Traditional Chinese Medicine monomer nanodrug delivery system (ISL@bCOF) via boron‐oxygen bonds, a smart response to glucose for delivering AI‐driven isoliquiritigenin (ISL) targeting ZBP1. This dynamic release mechanism, combined with transdermal delivery technology via potent microneedles, can modulate ...

Individual Responses to an 8-Week Neuromuscular Training Intervention in Trained Pre-Pubescent Female Artistic Gymnasts

open access: yesSports, 2018
This study examined individual responses in leg stiffness, reactive strength index (RSI), movement proficiency (deep overhead squat and in-line lunge), and trunk muscular endurance (flexor and extensor tests) in young female gymnasts following an 8-week ...

Changes in young women’s contraceptive use in the Netherlands: findings from three sex under the age of 25 surveys

open access: yesGenus, 2020
Prevention of unintended pregnancy among adolescents and young adults under 25 years is pivotal from an individual as well as societal perspective. In the USA, the use of long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) has been shown to increase, with no or ...

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Room‐Temperature Skyrmionic Synapse in 2D Ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 Operating via Collective Spin Texture Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a neuromorphic synapse in 2D Fe3GaTe2 flakes. The device operates via a current‐driven transformation from a skyrmion‐lattice to a stripe‐domain state, yielding a linear anomalous Hall resistance response with a tunable slope to enable multiply‐accumulate operations. Simulations confirm its viability in artificial neural networks.

Return of Industrial Policy in the V4 Countries: Insights From the NIPO Database

open access: yesKöz-gazdaság
Industrial policy, which has long been marginalised in economic thought, is now experiencing a global revival. This new industrial policy renaissance has also reached the dependent market economies of the Visegrád Four (V4).

Determinants of household waste disposal practices and implications for practical community interventions: lessons from Lilongwe

open access: yesEnvironmental Research: Infrastructure and Sustainability, 2023
Open waste disposal has a negative effect on local ecology, economy, and public health. Understanding factors influencing waste disposal decisions is necessary for developing solutions to curb open waste disposal.

Chip‐Integrated Metasurface‐GaAsSb Nanowire Array Photodetectors for Single‐Pixel Polarimetric Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A 2×2 multiplexed GaAsSb nanowire photodetector array integrated with L‐shaped metasurfaces is developed for miniaturized infrared polarimetry. Leveraging non‐radiating anapole states that facilitate near‐field enhancement, the device demonstrates strong polarization selectivity at 835 nm.

Effectiveness, working mechanisms, and implementation of youth-initiated mentoring for juvenile delinquents: a multiple-methods study protocol

open access: yesHealth & Justice
Background The societal costs associated with juvenile delinquency and reoffending are high, emphasising the need for effective prevention strategies. A promising approach is Youth-Initiated Mentoring (YIM).
