Tuning Optoelectronic Properties and Photoelectrochemical Performance of β‐TaON via Vanadium Doping
Vanadium‐doped β‐TaON is studied to elucidate how controlled cation substitution modulates crystal and electronic structures and photoelectrochemical performance. Moderate vanadium incorporation (<10 at.%) retains phase purity, narrows the bandgap, and improves charge transport, whereas excessive doping (>10 at.%) induces secondary phases that suppress

A novel Pr‐based nanocomposite cathode consisting of PrNi0.7Co0.3O3‐δ (simple perovskite) and Pr4Ni3O10+δ (Ruddlesden‐Popper) demonstrates enhanced oxygen absorption/surface diffusion and oxygen reduction reaction activity than pure PrNi0.7Co0.3O3‐δ. Combined with the precursor‐based cathode layer deposition technique, the nanocomposite cathode also ...

Molten salt corrosion behavior of laser remelted PS-PVD YSZ thermal barrier coatings
Molten salt from the service environment leaches Y2O3 from yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ), threatening the security of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs). In this study, we compared the molten salt corrosion resistances of YSZ coatings prepared via plasma-

A New Robust Low-Scatter X-ray Mass Indicator for Clusters of Galaxies [PDF]
We present comparison of X-ray proxies for the total cluster mass, including the spectral temperature (Tx), gas mass measured within r500 (Mg), and the new proxy, Yx, which is a simple product of Tx and Mg and is related to the total thermal energy of ...

Engineering Metastability in Atomic Layer Deposition: Polymorph and Valence Control
This work presents strategies for stabilizing two types of metastable phases: structural polymorphs and multivalence states via ALD. These approaches focus on lowering the energy barriers required for metastable phase formation, enabling access to metastable states beyond the thermodynamic limits imposed by the low‐temperature conditions of ALD.

Fe-doped 8YSZ at different composition for solid electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cell
Pure 8 mol% yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and Fe-doped (1 mol%, 2 mol% and 3 mol%) YSZ electrolyte were prepared and sintered at 1550°C. Transition metal oxide is added into YSZ as sintering aided has a function to reduce the sintering temperature ...

Densification behavior of yttria-stabilized zirconia powders for solid oxide fuel cell electrolytes
Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is the most common electrolyte material for solid oxide fuel cells. Herein, we conducted a comparative study on the densification behavior of three different kinds of commercial 8 mol% YSZ powders: (i) TZ-8Y (Tosoh, Japan)

Quantification of the degradation of Ni-YSZ anodes upon redox cycling
Ni-YSZ anodes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells are vulnerable to microstructural damage during redox cycling leading to a decrease in the electrochemical performance. This study quantifies the microstructural changes as a function of redox cycles at 800 °C and
