Spray pyrolysis deposition of YSZ and YSZ–Pt composite films
Applied Surface Science, 2005Abstract In the present paper procedures are described for spray pyrolysis deposition of YSZ films (0.1–30 μm in thickness) with 8 or 15 mole % of YO 1.5 on different substrates. Aqueous or ethylene glycol solutions of Y–Zr-citrates were used as starting material and O 2 as carrier gas.

Fabrication and Characteristics of YSZ–YSZ/Al2O3 Double-Layer TBC
Oxidation of Metals, 2011A novel YSZ–YSZ/Al2O3 (YSZ means 6 wt% yttria partially stabilized zirconia) double-layer thermal barrier coating was fabricated using composite sol–gel and pressure filtration microwave sintering (PFMS) technologies. In this double-layer coating, the top layer was YSZ ceramics with a thickness of about 150 μm and the bottom layer was composed of micro-

YSZ‐Induced Crystallographic Reorientation of Ni Particles in Ni–YSZ Cermets
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2007Metal–ceramic interfaces in Ni–YSZ (YSZ, yttria‐stabilized zirconia)‐textured porous cermets prepared by reduction of NiO–YSZ directionally solidified eutectics have been studied by transmission electron microscopy and X‐ray pole figure experiments. Before reduction of NiO, the interfacial plane is

Thermal stability of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and YSZ-Al2O3 coatings
Ceramics International, 2017Abstract The thermal insulation performance of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and YSZ-Al 2 O 3 coatings deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying was evaluated using a thermal shock simulator, revealing the superiority of YSZ-Al 2 O 3 coatings due to their lower thermal conductivity.

Thermal Cyclic Behaviour of Conventional YSZ and Mullite-YSZ Thermal Barrier Coatings
Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2020Nowadays commonly used thermal barrier coatings (TBC) are based on yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ). Addition of mullite phase into the YSZ coating can improve resulting high temperature properties. The contribution focuses on high temperature cyclic oxidation behaviour of two TBC systems with different top coats (TC) deposited by the means of ...

Microstructural evolution of YSZ electrolyte aerosol-deposited on porous NiO-YSZ
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2012Abstract Dense, crack-free, ∼7.5 μm thick, 8 mol% yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) film was aerosol deposited on porous NiO-YSZ anode substrates at room temperature without additional high-temperature sintering. The films’ microstructures and gas permeability were observed after annealing at various temperatures.
