Study of Nonlinear Refraction and Nonlinear Absorption Coefficients of Different CdS Film Thickness by diode laser

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2013
In the present work, different thicknesses of CdS film were prepared by chemical bath deposition. Z-Scan technique was used to study the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficients.

Z-scan experiment on soluble carbon nanotubes

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2006
The Z-scan experiments were carried out to investigate the soluble carbon nanotubes. The thickness of sample is changed in order to study “thin” and “thick” sample respectively. The experiments are carried out using 8ns, 10Hz repetition rate laser pulses at 1064nm and 532nm.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Bone Mineral Density in Children with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia [PDF]

open access: yesLiaquat National Journal of Primary Care
Background: Treatment in all forms of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) includes lifelong replacement of steroids. Steroids have an impact on bone health in multiple ways and are known to cause osteoporosis when given in high doses or for a longer ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Estimation of photovoltaic field in LiNbO3 crystal by Z-scan

open access: yes, 2015
Based on the saturable photorefractive nonlinearity for photovoltaic crystals under short-circuit condition, the general (on- and off-axis) Z-scan formula for a one-dimensional Gaussian laser beam is derived.
