Barremian-Aptian Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy in Zagros Basin (west Iran), Tethyan Realm
Stratigraphy and Geological Correlation, 2018The calcareous nannofossils from the upper part of Garau Formation were studied in the NW Zagros Basin, western Iran (Kabir-Kuh section). The ca. 510 m thick studied interval is mainly composed of interlayered marls, marly limestones, marly shales, laminated black shales and limestones.

Paleoecology & Paleobiogeography of Orbitoides Genus in Zagros Basin (South West Iran)
Journal of Earth Science & Climatic Change, 2015Orbitoides is a large size benthic foraminifera of Tarbur Foarmation (Late Campanian -Maastrichtian) distributed from Northwest to southeast of Zagros area. From the Paleoenvironment point of view this genus lives in shallow environment with high aggitation, high light penetration and low clastic particles in let (like reefs and barrier reefs).

The Sachun Formation in the Zagros Mountains Ranges was sampled on the basis of changes in lithology and 150 vertically oriented thin-sections were prepared and subjected to detailed petrographic study. Evaporite, carbonate and shale/marl facies are identified here.

Analyzing the drainage system anomaly of Zagros basins: Implications for active tectonics
Tectonophysics, 2013Abstract Morphometric analysis of hierarchical arrangement of drainage networks allows to evaluate the effects of external controls especially tectonics on basin development. In this study, a quantitative method for calculation of stream's hierarchical anomaly number is introduced.
