The effect of an external magnetic field on the gas-liquid transition in the Ising spin fluid
The theoretical phase diagrams of the magnetic (Ising) lattice fluid in an external magnetic field is presented. It is shown that, depending on the strength of the nonmagnetic interaction between particles, various effects of external field on the Ising ...

ABSTRACT Radical innovation and innovation efficiency are important for a firm's competitive advantage. Past research has established that the firm's upper echelons disproportionately contribute to the radicalness and efficiency of innovation efforts.

Combined inhibitory effect of nisin with EDTA against Listeria monocytogenes in soy-protein edible coating on turkey frankfurters stored at 4°C and 10°C [PDF]
Several food contamination outbreaks are linked to Listeria monocytogenes. More effective methods are needed to prevent the growth and recontamination of L. monocytogenes on ready-to-eat (RTE) food products.

Adenine methylation in zein genes
This paper reports the novel finding of adenine methylation in higher plants. Comparison of restriction patterns of genomic maize DNA digested with enzymes MboI and Sau3A enabled us to detect the existence of adenine methylation in zein genes. Adenine methylation within or around zein genes turned out to be similar in endosperm (where zeins are ...

The Efficacy of Food‐Grade Substances to Protect Dietary Glutamine From Ruminal Degradation
ABSTRACT This study was conducted to investigate the use of four, low cost, food‐grade substances to protect glutamine from microbial degradation in vitro, and subsequently validate their efficacy in vivo. Two in vitro trials were conducted using 250 mL bottles replicated in triplicate to test beeswax‐, paraffin wax‐, zein‐, and rice bran wax ...

A Bioluminescent Reporter System for Real‐Time Monitoring of the Unfolded Protein Response in Plants
ABSTRACT The unfolded protein response (UPR) is a critical mechanism for maintaining endoplasmic reticulum (ER) homeostasis under stress. Here, we developed a bioluminescent reporter system, AtbZIP60‐LUC, in Arabidopsis to dynamically monitor ER stress by coupling IRE1‐mediated splicing of bZIP60 mRNA to firefly luciferase (LUC) expression.

Designed Alleles of ZmRap2.7 Decouple the Trade‐Off Between Early Flowering and Yield Penalty
ABSTRACT Flowering time genes often exhibit pleiotropic effects. In particular, early flowering is frequently associated with reduced grain yield due to a shorter growth period. This trade‐off poses a major challenge for developing early‐maturing and high‐yielding varieties, a key breeding objective in modern maize production. Here, we demonstrate that
