The Effects of the Activation Energy on the Intrinsic Instability of Adiabatic and Non-Adiabatic Premixed Flames

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2008
The effects of the activation energy on the intrinsic instability of adiabatic and non-adiabatic premixed flames were studied by two-dimensional unsteady calculations of reactive flows based on the compressible Navier-Stokes equation.

Cosmological axion and neutrino mass constraints from Planck 2015 temperature and polarization data

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
Axions currently provide the most compelling solution to the strong CP problem. These particles may be copiously produced in the early universe, including via thermal processes.

Three-dimensional cellular premixed flames generated by hydrodynamic and diffusive-thermal instabilities (Effects of unburned-gas temperature and heat loss)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
We dealt with three-dimensional cellular premixed flames generated by hydrodynamic and diffusive-thermal instabilities to elucidate the effects of unburned-gas temperature and heat loss.

Multiobjective Optimization of Hydrogen‐Assisted Calophyllum inophyllum Biodiesel Operation in a Compression Ignition Engine

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 2897-2929, June 2026.
Tri‐fuel diesel–Calophyllum inophyllum biodiesel–hydrogen operation was tested over 96 points in a diesel engine. Eight performance and emission metrics feed a preference‐agnostic Bootstrapped Empirical Multiobjective Ranking and Selection methodology, revealing load‐blend‐hydrogen windows that increase efficiency, restrain smoke, and expose NOx trade ...

A Comprehensive Numerical Study on Effects of Natural Gas Composition on the Operation of an HCCI Engine Une étude numérique complète sur les effets de la composition du gaz naturel carburant sur le réglage d’un moteur HCCI

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2011
Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine is a promising idea to reduce fuel consumption and engine emissions. Natural Gas (NG), usually referred as clean fuel, is an appropriate choice for HCCI engines due to its suitable capability of ...

Hybrid Oxygen Enrichment and Preheating Strategy for Performance Recovery in Ultra‐Lean Micro–Trapped Vortex Combustors

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 3028-3041, June 2026.
Ultra‐lean H2 micro‐combustor performance is boosted through regulated O2 enrichment and inlet preheating. A 16‐case Taguchi study (ϕ = 0.3) shows: controlled enrichment and heating increase radiative output and efficiency, but excessive O2/temperature causes flashback.

The Linear Bias in the Zeldovich Approximation and a Relation between the Number Density and the Linear Bias of Dark Halos

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2000
The linear bias of the dark halos from a model under the Zeldovich approximation is derived and compared with the fitting formula of simulation results. While qualitatively similar to the Press-Schechter formula, this model gives a better description for the linear bias around the turnaround point.

Individual characteristics associated with youth symptom reports and persisting symptoms after concussion

open access: yesJournal of Neuropsychology, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 343-360, June 2026.
Abstract Dissonant approaches for measuring persisting symptoms after concussion (PSaC) make it difficult to predict who will experience prolonged symptoms. We sought to identify medical and sociodemographic characteristics associated with symptom burden and assess how such factors shape symptom evolution and PSaC classification after mild traumatic ...

Interaction of Dirac δ$$ \delta $$‐Waves in the Inviscid Levine and Sleeman Chemotaxis Model

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 7, Page 6492-6506, 15 May 2026.
ABSTRACT This article investigates interactions of δ$$ \delta $$‐shock waves in the inviscid Levine and Sleeman chemotaxis model ut−λ(uv)x=0$$ {u}_t-\lambda {(uv)}_x=0 $$, vt−ux=0$$ {v}_t-{u}_x=0 $$. The analysis employs a distributional product and a solution concept that extends the classical solution concept.

Unraveling the Effect of Tramp Elements on Phase Transformations in Steels by Combining CALPHAD Modeling and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
This study investigates how tramp elements from increased scrap usage influence phase transformations in low‐alloyed steel. Combining dilatometry and microscopy reveal that tramp elements delay transformations, reduce critical cooling rates and increase hardenability.
