Laparoscopic management of Mirizzi syndrome with liver cirrhosis using indocyanine green mapping: A case report and review of the literature

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gastrointestinal Intervention, 2023
Mirizzi syndrome was previously considered an absolute contraindication for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, with advances in radiology and increasing familiarity with the pathophysiology, the successful laparoscopic management of Mirizzi syndrome ...

Zearalenone Exposure Disrupts STAT-ISG15 in Rat Colon: A Potential Linkage between Zearalenone and Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesToxins, 2023
Zearalenone (ZEN), a prevalent mycotoxin contaminating food and known for its intestinal toxicity, has been suggested as a potential risk factor for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), although the exact relationship between ZEN exposure and IBD remains ...

Application of Zearalenone (ZEN)-Detoxifying Bacillus in Animal Feed Decontamination through Fermentation

open access: yesToxins, 2019
Zearalenone (ZEN) is an estrogenic mycotoxin which can cause loss in animal production. The aim of this study was to screen Bacillus strains for their ZEN detoxification capability and use a fermentation process to validate their potential application in

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Effects of Intestinal Microorganisms on Metabolism and Toxicity Mitigation of Zearalenone in Broilers

open access: yesAnimals, 2022
Zearalenone (ZEN) is an estrogenic mycotoxin, and chickens are relatively insensitive to it. In this study, the effects of intestinal microorganisms on ZEN metabolism and toxicity mitigation in broilers were studied by two experiments. Firstly, in vitro,

Status and prospects of searches for neutrinoless double beta decay

open access: yes, 2012
The simultaneous beta decay of two neutrons in a nucleus without the emission of neutrinos (called neutrinoless double beta decay) is a lepton number violating process which is not allowed in the Standard Model of particle physics.

Maternal Expression Relaxes Constraint on Innovation of the Anterior Determinant, bicoid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The origin of evolutionary novelty is believed to involve both positive selection and relaxed developmental constraint. In flies, the redesign of anterior patterning during embryogenesis is a major developmental innovation and the rapidly evolving Hox ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

A Semi-Classical Schwinger-Keldysh Re-interpretation Of The 4D Majorana Fermion Mass Term

open access: yes, 2018
We offer a semi-classical re-interpretation of the 4D Majorana fermion mass term as an `influence action' in the Schwinger-Keldysh formulation of fermionic Quantum Field Theories.Comment: 4 pages.
