Novel zero-current-switching (ZCS) PWM converters

IECON'03. 29th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37468), 2004
A new family of zero-current-switching (ZCS) pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) converters which uses a new ZCS PWM switch cell is presented in this paper. The main switch and auxiliary switch operate at zero-current-switching turn on and turn off, and the all passive semiconductor devices in the ZCS-PWM converter operate at zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn ...

Zero-Current Switching Impedance-Source DC-DC Converter

IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019
This paper presents a novel soft-switching technique for the galvanically isolated impedance-source full-bridge DC-DC converters. It allows reducing the turn off losses of the inverter switches, which otherwise represent a significant portion of the total power loss in such converters.

Multiple Output Zero-Current Switching Bi-directional Converter

IECON 2007 - 33rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2007
This article proposes multiple output zero-current switching (ZCS) bi-directional power flow control conversion schemes. This method possesses the conventional features of resonant switched-capacitor converters: low weight, small volume, high efficiency, low EMI emission and current stress.

A new zero current switching resonant Buck converter

2011 24th Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering(CCECE), 2011
In this paper a zero current switching resonant Buck converter as a soft-switching DC-DC converter is presented In this buck type converter, all semiconductor elements are soft switched. Also, the converter benefits from a very simple control method. Theoretical equations are derived and confirmed through simulation results.

An improved HERIC inverter with zero-current-switching

2017 IEEE Electrical Power and Energy Conference (EPEC), 2017
In this paper, an improved HERIC inverter is proposed. It makes most switching devices operate at zero-current-switching state, by only adding auxiliary inductors on the freewheeling branch. Meanwhile, the dead-time is not required and the modulation of the system is simplified.

Zero Current Switching of CFSI using Auxiliary Circuit

2018 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2018
High gain inverters such as Z-source inverter (ZSI) and quasi-ZSI are gaining popularity in the applications of renewable energy sources due to limited DC voltage. Current-fed Switched Inverter (CFSI) is a derivative of ZSI, which has similar gain characteristic as ZSI and q-ZSI but with lesser components.

A new zero voltage and zero current power switching technique

20th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1992
An outline is presented of work done by the authors on a novel converter topology where the power switching occurs at both zero current and zero voltage, giving it some major advantage over the present state of the art. A description is given of the application of this topology to both high and low-output-voltage converters.

A near zero current switching series resonant inverter using GTOs

15th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 1992
The authors present a novel implementation of fast gate turn-off thyristors (GTOs) for a series resonant converter operating above 10 kHz and at an output power rating of 10 kW or greater. A zero current switching gating strategy that eliminates the need of large negative gate drive circuits is presented.

Novel zero-current-switching (ZCS) PWM switch cell minimizing additional conduction loss

2001 IEEE 32nd Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37230), 2002
This paper proposes a new zero-current-switching (ZCS) pulsewidth modulation (PWM) switch cell that has no additional conduction loss of the main switch. In this cell, the main switch and the auxiliary switch turn on and turn off under zero-current condition. The diodes commutate softly and the reverse-recovery problems are alleviated.
