Impact of zero sequence component on voltage-source converters

No.02TH8579), 2003Presently, the preferred circuit of PWM (pulse width modulation) converters has the open-wye 3-phase connection, in which the zero sequence does not exist. Diagnostics of induction machines using the zero sequence voltage
Conference Record of the 2004 IEEE Industry Applications Conference, 2004. 39th IAS Annual Meeting., 2004Diagnostics of induction machines using the zero sequence voltage is presented in this paper. Both stator-winding fault and broken rotor bar detection are covered. Faults in the stator windings or damaged rotor bar cause asymmetries in the phase impedances of the machine, which give rise to zero sequence voltage components.
