On the number of zero-sum subsequences
For a sequence S of elements from an additive abelian group G, let f(S) denote the number of subsequences of S the sum of whose terms is zero. In this paper we characterize all sequences S in G with f(S)> 2 |S|−2, where |S | denotes the number of ...

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

Quantum circuit dynamics via path integrals: Is there a classical action for discrete-time paths?
It is straightforward to compute the transition amplitudes of a quantum circuit using the sum-over-paths methodology when the gates in the circuit are balanced, where a balanced gate is one for which all non-zero transition amplitudes are of equal ...

Added Prognostic Value of EEG Reactivity in Comatose Patients Following Cardiac Arrest
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the added prognostic value of EEG reactivity for favorable outcome compared with background analysis during and after targeted temperature management (TTM). Methods Prospective observational cohort study of comatose post–cardiac arrest patients admitted to a single academic center between 2017 and 2022, all undergoing ...

On Zero-Sum Sequences in Z/nZ + Z/nZ
It is well known that the maximal possible length of a minimal zero-sum sequence S in the group Z/nZ⊕Z/nZ equals 2n−1, and we investigate the structure of such sequences. We say that some integer n ≥ 2 has Property B, if every minimal zero-sum sequence S in Z/nZ ⊕ Z/nZ with length 2n − 1 contains some element with multiplicity n − 1.

Zero-sum problems in finite cyclic groups
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate some open problems in the area of combinatorial number theory referred to as zero-sum theory. A zero-sequence in a finite cyclic group G is said to have the basic property if it is equivalent under group ...

On unit-weighted zero-sum constants of $\mathbb Z_n$
Given $A\subseteq\mathbb Z_n$, the constant $C_A(n)$ is defined to be the smallest natural number $k$ such that any sequence of $k$ elements in $\mathbb Z_n$ has an $A$-weighted zero-sum subsequence having consecutive terms. The value of $C_{U(n)}(n)$ is

ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory demyelinating syndromes, including multiple sclerosis (MS), aquaporin‐4 antibody–positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4 + NMOSD), and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), occasionally overlap.

We investigate the convergence analysis of the following general inexact algorithm for approximating a zero of the sum of a cocoercive operator A and maximal monotone operators B with D(B)⊂H: xn+1=αnf(xn)+γnxn+δn(I+rnB)-1(I-rnA)xn+en, for n=1,2,…, for ...
