Synthesizing polyethersulphone membranes with hybrid iron/nickel nanoparticles for dyes removal: An efficient biogenesis approach

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Industrial wastewater contamination by azo dyes poses a significant environmental challenge. This study reports the green synthesis of bimetallic iron/nickel (Fe/Ni) nanoparticles using moringa leaf extract, which acted as both a reducing and capping agent, and their incorporation into polyethersulphone (PES) membranes to produce eco‐friendly ...

Activation of persulfate using a biochar polyacrylic acid composite loaded with nanoscale zero-valent iron for the in situ remediation of anthracene-contaminated soil

open access: yesGreen Energy & Environment
Synthesizing highly efficient, low-toxicity catalysts for the remediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contaminated soils is crucial. Nanoscale zero-valent iron (n-ZVI) is widely used in the treatment of pollutants due to its high catalytic

Synthesis and Characterisation of Nano Zero-Valent Iron for the Reduction and Immobilisation of Cr(VI) in Water Resources [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji
Nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) was synthesised through the chemical reduction of Fe(III) ions using iron(III) chloride and sodium borohydride solutions under atmospheric conditions.

Application of Emulsified Zero-Valent Iron to Marine Environments [PDF]

open access: yes
Contamination of marine waters and sediments with heavy metals and dense non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPLs) including chlorinated solvents, pesticides and PCBs pose ecological and human health risks through the contaminant's potential bioaccumulation in ...

Application of nanoscale zero valent iron (NZVI) for groundwater remediation in Europe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: Nanoscale zero valent iron (NZVI) is emerging as a new option for the treatment of contaminated soil and groundwater targeting mainly chlorinated organic contaminants (e.g., solvents, pesticides) and inorganic anions or metals.

Dynamic Chloride‐Ion Adsorption on Ag Nanoparticles and Carboxylic Acid Ligands: Enabling Highly Stable Industrial‐Scale Seawater Oxidation

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
We propose a strategy where trimesic acid (TA) is anchored between LDH layers, enabling Ag nanoparticles to preferentially adsorb free Cl− to form AgCl. By modulating the charge environment within LDH layers, both chlorine corrosion resistance and OER activity are enhanced, enabling long‐term stable operation under industrial conditions.

Effect of zero-valent iron on Rhizobium sp. cells isolated from cadmium-contaminated sites after remediation by zero-valent iron [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Cadmium contamination found in paddy fields in the Maesot District of Tak Province, Thailand. This area was remediated using 50mg/L of ZVI. The study aimed to isolate and identify soil bacteria in the soil and rice roots and to investigate ZVI’s effect ...

Role of vertex corrections in the matrix formulation of the random phase approximation for the multiorbital Hubbard model

open access: yes, 2016
In the framework of a multiorbital Hubbard model description of superconductivity, a matrix formulation of the superconducting pairing interaction that has been widely used is designed to treat spin, charge and orbital fluctuations within a random phase ...

Entropy‐Driven Design of Stable High‐Performance Sodium‐Ion Battery Cathodes

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review explores high‐entropy strategies for advanced sodium‐ion battery cathodes, focusing on LTMOs and PBAs. It details how entropy engineering mitigates challenges: phase transitions, interface degradation, and air instability in LTMOs; vacancy defects and crystalline water in PBAs.
