One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.

Zeros of univariate interval polynomials

open access: yes, 2007
Polynomials with perturbed coefficients, which can be regarded as interval polynomials, are very common in the area of scientific computing due to floating point operations in a computer environment.

Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

Some inequalities for rational function with prescribed poles and restricted zeros

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In this article, we first prove some auxiliary results in the form of lemmas using an improved Schwarz lemma at the boundary recently proved by Mercer. Furthermore, we establish some new inequalities for rational functions on the unit disk in the complex

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

La hipòtesi de Riemann: El gran repte pendent

open access: yesMètode Science Studies Journal: Annual Review, 2018
La hipòtesi de Riemann és una afirmació, no demostrada, que fa referència als zeros de la funció zeta de Riemann. Bernhard Riemann calculà els sis primers zeros no trivials d’aquesta funció i observà que tots estaven sobre una mateixa recta.

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Zeros of difference polynomials

open access: yes, 1992
Let Δ be the difference operator defined by Δf(x) = f(x + 1) − f(x). The polynomial Δmxn of degree n − m is known to have n − m collinear zeros. We study the distribution of these zeros and relate them to zeros of Hermite polynomials.

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.
