A Study on the Influence of Zr on the Strengthening of the Al-10% Al2O3 Composite Obtained by Mechanical Alloying

open access: yesMetals, 2023
Al2O3 is a traditional strengthening phase in aluminum matrix composites due to its high hardness and melting point. At the same time, zirconium is an important alloying element for heat-resistant aluminum alloys. However, its effect on the structure and

Separation of Zirconium and Hafnium from Chloride Solution Using Strongly Basic Anion Resins [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2022
The ion exchange process was employed to separate zirconium from hafnium in solution. To this end, four effective parameters, involving resin type, HCl concentration, Time, and initial zirconium concentration, were selected as the main variables.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
