Subcriticality control elements in a reactor system with an extended plasma source of neutrons with regard for temperature [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Energy and Technology, 2021
Materials have been selected for the shim rods and burnable absorbers to compensate for the excessive reactivity of the facility’s blanket part and to provide for the possibility of reactivity control in conjunction with a plasma source of neutrons.

Synthesis and characterization of ZrB2 nanopowders via metallothermic reduction of ZrCl4 using Na, Mg and Al in mild temperature: a morphology/reductant correlation

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
In this research, zirconium diboride (ZrB2) nanopowder was synthesized in different particle sizes and morphologies via methallothermic reduction technique at low-temperature ranges by reaction of ZrCl4, B2O3 and metallic reductants (Na, Mg and Al).

Low-temperature synthesis of ZrB2 powder from oxides using Na

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2017
ZrB2 was synthesized by heating a mixture of ZrO2, B2O3, and Na in a molar ratio of 1:1:5 at 873–1273 K. While unreacted ZrO2 remained in the sample synthesized at 873 K, single phase ZrB2 powders were obtained at temperatures ≥1073 K.
