Hybrid SiOₓ‐CVD/PDMS ultrathin films mitigate atmospheric corrosion of additively manufactured AlSi10Mg. Electrochemical analyses show reduced corrosion currents, increased charge‐transfer resistance, and suppressed pitting due to diminished cathodic activity and limited oxygen and ion transport under NaCl exposure.

Bio‐derived lignin–Eosin Y macromolecular networks are developed as visible‐light‐responsive self‐sterilizing coatings that generate reactive oxygen species without leaching. The spray‐coated photopolymerized surfaces exhibit durable antibacterial and antiviral activity under ambient light for extended periods, demonstrating a scalable and sustainable ...

Optoelectronics of Single Mixed Dislocations in Van Der Waals Core‐Shell Nanowires
Ge1‐xSnxS van der Waals core‐shell nanowires can host single helical dislocations whose character is tunable from a pure screw to a majority edge dislocation via the core‐shell lattice mismatch. Cathodoluminescence shows profound effects once an edge component is introduced, notably a lowering of the spontaneous emission quantum efficiency due to the ...

ZnSe-Si bi-coaxial nanowire heterostructures
We report on the fabrication, structural characterization, and luminescence properties od ZnSe/Si bi-coaxial nanowire hetero-structures. Uniform ZnSe/Si bi-coaxial nanowire heterostructures are grown on silicon substrate by simple one-step thermal ...

UV exposure induces cuticular and cortical damage in natural hair, with oxidative effects and protein degradation comparable to bleaching. However, double bleaching leads to significantly greater structural degradation, emphasizing distinct mechanisms and severity of chemical versus UV‐induced damage. Abstract The combination of chemist techniques is a

Noble gases and nitrogen in material from asteroid Bennu
Abstract We report the elemental and isotopic abundances of all stable noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) in eight particles from asteroid Bennu returned by NASA's OSIRIS‐REx mission. We also report nitrogen abundances and isotopic ratios that were analyzed alongside neon and argon in four additional Bennu particles.

Photoluminescence Characterization of Heteroepitaxial ZnSe/GaAs and ZnSe/AlAs Grown By MBE
Heteroepitaxial ZnSe grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) has been characterized using low temperature photoluminescence (PL) and reflectance. Excitonic PL linewidths of thick (relaxed) ZnSe layers are>1.4 meV, and depend little on the type of ...

Manganese‐Doped Mesoporous Bioactive Glasses
Mn‐containing, P2O5‐free 85S mesoporous bioactive glasses (MBGs) with the composition (85SiO2–(15 − x)CaO–xMnO mol%, x = 1, 2, 3, and 4) were synthesized and characterized. The glasses retained mesoporosity, enabling rapid hydroxycarbonate apatite formation and supporting cytocompatibility.
