Predicting continuous amyloid PET levels with CSF and plasma brain‐derived p‐tau217
Abstract BACKGROUND Staging amyloid beta (Aβ) burden along a continuous spectrum provides clinically relevant information. Conventional phosphorylated tau (p‐tau)217 reliably identifies amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) positivity, but its ability to capture the full Aβ continuum is limited.

Mixed Pain: Toward a Consensus Definition and a Mechanism‐Based Framework
ABSTRACT Background For decades, clinicians and researchers have struggled to classify pain conditions that do not fit neatly into the nociceptive, neuropathic or nociplastic frameworks. Many common disorders—from chronic low back pain to cancer pain and osteoarthritis—exhibit overlapping mechanisms and have long fallen into the ‘grey zone’ of mixed ...

We present a direct method for evaluating metabolism in intact hPSC‐derived cerebral organoids (COs) via HR‐MAS 1H‐NMR spectroscopy. This approach suggests that COs exhibit a metabolic profile similar to in vivo human fetal brain, with high levels of lactate and hTau, low levels of NAA, and equimolar levels of Glu and Gln.

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Home‐Field Advantage (HFA) theory—positing that litter decomposes faster at its site of origin—allows us to disentangle the respective influences of litter quality, soil biota composition, and microclimate on shifts in litter decomposition following land use conversion.

Vibrio communities shape carbenicillinase diversity in European coasts. Sediments serve as reservoirs of antibiotic‐resistant Vibrio alginolyticus, which can move into the water column and accumulate in bivalves. This spreads β‐lactamase resistance and raises human exposure risks to antibiotic‐resistant pathogenic Vibrio, especially as higher seawater ...

Comparative 30‐day life cycle assessment of bladder drainage strategies
Objective To identify the most environmentally sustainable urinary drainage strategies commonly used to manage bladder outlet obstruction and also to highlight actionable levers for reducing the footprint of urinary drainage in clinical practice. Materials and Methods We conducted a comparative life cycle assessment of three urinary drainage strategies
