New Constraints on the Complex Subduction and Tearing Model of the Cocos Plate Using Anisotropic Pn Tomography

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2023
To better understand the structure and process of the Cocos plate subduction, we obtained the first Pn velocity and anisotropy model of the uppermost mantle in southern Mexico using the Pn tomography method and new ISC‐EHB data.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Influence of Extension Length of Rotor End Windings on the Three-Dimensional Electromagnetic Field and Temperature Rise in the Large Turbine Generator End Zone With Magnetic Screen

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Leakage magnetic field from the rotor end windings affects obviously the electromagnetic losses and temperature of end components in the turbine generator end zone with magnetic screen. As the capacity of turbine generator increases, this effect of rotor

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Realize a Gabor zone plate with zigzag zones

open access: yesOptics Express
Zone plates have gained significant popularity in the field of X-ray applications. In order to overcome the inherent problem of multiple focal points in traditional Fresnel zone plates (FZPs), researchers have turned to designing Gabor zone plates (GZPs) with binary and sinusoidal transmission characteristics. The processing of sharp corners in various

Mantle Convection Moving Plates [PDF]

open access: yes
This demonstration models the manner in which the convection currents in the mantle of the Earth cause movement of the plates. Convection currents in the mantle were thought, for many years, to be solely responsible for plate tectonic movements, with the

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Variations in the crustal structure and strength of plate coupling along the Ryukyu subduction zone

open access: yesGeoscience Letters, 2023
The Ryukyu trench-arc-back arc system is part of the subduction margins of the Philippine Sea plate. Previous studies have indicated that several geophysical and geological characteristics reveal significant variations (including convergent rate ...

Diffraction Efficiency of Phase Type Zone-plate and Zone-plate Interferometer.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering, 1996
