RAPD-PCR for Identification of Zoophthora radicans Isolates in Biological Control of the Potato Leafhopper

open access: yesJournal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1995
Biological control studies require the ability to distinguish released pathogens from locally occurring isolates of the same species. We have developed a technique that differentiates genotypes using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) for the apomictic species Zoophthora radicans (Zygomycota: Entomophthorales), a pathogen of the potato leafhopper,

Primeros registros de Zoophthora radicans (Entomophthoraceae) y Metarhizium rileyi (Clavicipitaceae) como patógenos de Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) en Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Plutella xylostella (L.), diamondback moth (DBM), is considered among the 20 most resistant arthropods in the world. Entomopathogenic fungi are important mortality factors of Lepidoptera in the field.

CONIDIOGÊNESE DE ZOOPHTHORA RADICANS (BREFELD) BATKO SOBRE EMPOASCA KRAEMERI (ROSS & MOORE), À DIFERENTES TEMPERATURAS

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico, 1996

[First record of Zoophthora radicans (Entomophthorales: Entomophthoraceae) on adults of the Paraguay tea psyllid, Gyropsylla spegazziniana Lizer & Trelles (Hemiptera: Psyllidae), in Brazil]. [PDF]

open access: yesNeotropical entomology, 2010
We report the first occurrence of Zoophthora radicans infecting adults of Gyropsylla spegazziniana Lizer & Trelles in a commercial Paraguay tea plantation (Ilex paraguariensis), in Cascavel, PR, Brazil. The fungus prevalence was high (90% of mortality), considered a natural epizooty.

Wpływ wybranych środków ochrony roślin na wzrost grzybów owadobójczych z rzędu owadomorkowców (Entomophthorales)

open access: yesAgronomy Science, 2016
Intensywne stosowanie pestycydów jest nadal najczęściej wybieraną metodą zwalczania agrofagów w uprawach rolniczych. Dotychczasowe wyniki badań wskazują, iż pestycydy mogą wywierać negatywny wpływ na rozwój, potencjał infekcyjny i przeżywalność grzybów ...

DEVELOPMENT OF A SEMI-SYNTHETIC MEDIUM FOR PRODUCTION OF AZYGOSPORES OF ZOOPHTHORA RADICANS (BREFELD) BATKO, A PATHOGEN OF RICE LEAF FOLDER

open access: yesJournal of Biopesticides, 2011
ABSTRACT Resting spores were obtained in vitro of Zoophthora radicans culture using carbon and nitrogen sources. Yeast extract and peptone as the nitrogen source and sunflower oil and dextrose as the carbon source were utilized at different combinations.
