Light is a crucial signal for zoosporogenesis and gametogenesis in some green microalgae
European Journal of Phycology, 2013Patterns of reproduction were investigated in some microalgal species of Chlorophyceae (Botryosphaerella sudetica, Neochloris aquatica, Neochloris vigensis, Bracteacoccus minor). Under continuous light, the microalgae reproduced asexually producing autospores.

Summary The “amoeboflagellate” Reticulamoeba gemmipara n. gen., n. sp. was isolated from samples which were collected in the littoral zone of the Greek island Thera (Santorin). It could be cultivated with the pennate diatom Amphiprora sp. as food organism. On a “lawn” of the diatoms, the amoeboid stages create clusters.

ABSTRACT Subplasmalemma microtubules were present in the cleavage furrows during zoosporogenesis in Thraustochytrium sp. The microtubules transversed the furrows but were not at right angles to nor circumferentially arranged in the plane of cleavage. Evidence of microtubuleplasmalemma bridges was found.

Phytophthora sojae, one of the most devastating Oomycete pathogens, causes severe diseases that lead to economic loss in the soybean industry. The production of zoospores play a crucial role during the development of Phytophthora disease. In this work, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology were used to obtain protein kinase A regulatory subunit (PsPkaR)
