Light microscopy of meiotic zoosporogenesis and mitotic gametogenesis in Ulva mutabilis føyn

Journal of Cell Science, 1974
ABSTRACT The light-microscopical cytology of synchronized meiotic zoosporogenesis and mitotic gametogenesis in the sea-lettuce Ulva mutabilis Føyn, is described. The similarity in time course and morphological events of the 2 processes is stressed and discussed with particular reference to the use of Ulva in the biochemical study of ...

THE EFFECT OF CHLORAMPHENICOL AND CYCLOHEXIMIDE ON MEIOTIC ZOOSPOROGENESIS AND MITOTIC GAMETOGENESIS INULVA MUTABILIS

Canadian Journal of Genetics and Cytology, 1975
Ulva mutabilis cells induced to form zoospores or gametes were exposed to chloramphenicol or cycloheximide during the 48 hours preparatory period. Chloramphenicol inhibited protein and RNA accumulation to the same degree at all concentrations, and appeared to have a general toxic effect.

Cytoplasmic cleavage during zoosporogenesis in Thraustochytrium sp.: Ultrastructure and the effects of colchicine and D2O

Journal of Cell Science, 1975
ABSTRACT Subplasmalemma microtubules were present in the cleavage furrows during zoosporogenesis in Thraustochytrium sp. The microtubules transversed the furrows but were not at right angles to nor circumferentially arranged in the plane of cleavage. Evidence of microtubuleplasmalemma bridges was found.

Protein kinase A regulatory subunit is required for normal growth, zoosporogenesis, and pathogenicity in Phytophthora sojae

Research in Microbiology
Phytophthora sojae, one of the most devastating Oomycete pathogens, causes severe diseases that lead to economic loss in the soybean industry. The production of zoospores play a crucial role during the development of Phytophthora disease. In this work, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology were used to obtain protein kinase A regulatory subunit (PsPkaR)
