The traditional order Mischococcales (Xanthophyceae) is polyphyletic with some original members now classified in a separate class, Eustigmatophyceae. However, most mischococcalean species have not yet been studied in detail, raising the possibility that many of them still remain misplaced.

The effects of osmotic water potentials on Aphanomyces euteiches during zoosporogenesis
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1973Zoosporogenesis in Aphanomyces euteiches was inhibited by increasing the osmotic water potential (ψπ) of the wash solution used to induce asexual reproduction. Mycelial protoplasm did not differentiate into primary spores when exposed to osmotica of glucose, mannose, fructose, sorbitol, sucrose, KCl, CaCl2, and polyethylene glycol (PEG) 4000 of ψπ ...

ABSTRACT Subplasmalemma microtubules were present in the cleavage furrows during zoosporogenesis in Thraustochytrium sp. The microtubules transversed the furrows but were not at right angles to nor circumferentially arranged in the plane of cleavage. Evidence of microtubuleplasmalemma bridges was found.

Phytophthora sojae, one of the most devastating Oomycete pathogens, causes severe diseases that lead to economic loss in the soybean industry. The production of zoospores play a crucial role during the development of Phytophthora disease. In this work, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology were used to obtain protein kinase A regulatory subunit (PsPkaR)
