Studies on Zostera L.

Zostera is a common genus. It looks like algaes and also grasses. We can often see Z. marina and Z. nana in our seas. It is sometimes about 1 m tall. The leaves are 1/2 - 1 cm breadth. Flowers are 9 - 12 mm tall. Flowers have a pistile (contain 1- 4 carpels) and 1 - 4 stamens. Fruits are achene.
