Transcriptomic analysis of cardiac gene expression across the life course in male and female mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysiol Rep, 2021
Cardiac gene expression changes across the life course in a sex specific manner. These differences in cardiac gene expression by age do not appear to be due to estrogen alone, given significant differences in gene expression juvenile and aged animals.

Microscale Tattooing of Hydrogels and Cells: Benzoxaborole-Driven Microcontact Printing (µCP) on Glycosylated Surfaces. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
We demonstrate a polymer brush‐assisted microcontact printing (µCP) to pattern glycosylated surfaces. We used a benzoboraxole derivative as an ink for surface patterning. With this novel method, we could functionalize wafer surfaces possessing glycopolymer films, surface‐glycosylated polymer microparticles as well as cellular interfaces.

miR-30b-3p Inhibits Proliferation and Invasion of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells via Suppressing PI3K/Akt Pathway [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2019
Background: The micro-RNA miR-30b-3p has been reported to play a crucial role in several cancers. However, the biological function of miR-30b-3p in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still unknown. Methods: RT-qPCR was employed to determine the expression ...

CGREF1 facilitates the cell proliferation, migration and invasion of hepatocellular carcinoma cells via regulation of EIF3H/ Wnt/β-Catenin signaling axis [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Cancer
Background Although Cell growth regulator with EF-hand domain 1 (CGREF1) has been predicted to be upregulated in multiple cancer types, its definitive function role in carcinogenesis, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), remains poorly ...

Molecular and physiological mechanisms of aging are distinct in the cardiac right and left ventricles. [PDF]

open access: yesAging Cell
The right ventricle (RV) undergoes profound dilation with advanced age, concomitant with impaired systolic function. This RV‐specific pathophysiological phenotype occurs alongside RV‐specific transcriptomic changes with enrichment of lipid metabolism genes.

Transcriptional Profiling of Human Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Identifies Diagnostic Biomarkers That Distinguish Active and Latent Tuberculosis [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) infection in humans can cause active disease or latent infection. However, the factors contributing to the maintenance of latent infection vs. disease progression are poorly understood.
