Nutrient digestibility in Arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) fed diets containing animal meals

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2010
Three digestibility experiments on Arctic foxes were carried out. Control groups were fed standard diets (C1 and C2) composed of fresh or frozen animal by-products and steamed ground grain.

Channel Capacity of Starch and Glucose Molecular Communications in the Small Intestine Digestive Tract [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
The emerging field of Molecular Communication (MC) aims to characterize biological-based signaling environment through information that are encoded into molecules. Since the birth of this field, a number of different applications and biological systems have been characterized using MC theory.

The estimation of the digestibility and metabolizable energy content of ruminant feedingstuffs from the gas production when they are incubated with rumen liquor in vitro

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences, 1979
SUMMARY A rapid method for measuring gas production during incubation of feedingstuffs with rumen liquor in vitro is described. Gas production in 24 h from 200 mg feed dry matter was well correlated with digestibility of organic matter, determined in ...

DIGEST: Fast and Communication Efficient Decentralized Learning with Local Updates [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Two widely considered decentralized learning algorithms are Gossip and random walk-based learning. Gossip algorithms (both synchronous and asynchronous versions) suffer from high communication cost, while random-walk based learning experiences increased convergence time.

Factors affecting sorghum protein digestibility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In the semi-arid tropics worldwide, sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is cultivated by farmers on a subsistence level and consumed as food by humans.

Steam explosion pretreatment of softwood: the effect of the explosive decompression on enzymatic digestibility

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2016
BackgroundSteam explosion pretreatment has been examined in many studies for enhancing the enzymatic digestibility of lignocellulosic biomass and is currently the most common pretreatment method in commercial biorefineries.

The Effect of Nutmeg Leaves Tannin (Myristica fragrans Houtt) as Protein Protecting Agents on In Vitro Nutrient Digestibility

open access: yesBuletin Peternakan, 2020
This experiment was aimed to study the effect of nutmeg leaf tannin addition on in vitro nutrient digestibility. Treatments in this experiment consisted of: P0 (control without tannin), P1 (feed + 2% tannin) and P2 (feed + 4% tannin).

Measurement of protein digestibility in humans by a dual-tracer method

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2018
Background Recent evaluations of the risk of dietary protein deficiency have indicated that protein digestibility may be a key limiting factor in the provision of indispensable amino acids (IAAs), particularly for vulnerable populations living in ...

IN-VITRO DIGESTIBILITY, VOLLATYLE FATTY ACID, AND AMMONIA OF CORN STRAW SILAGE WITH DIFFERENT STORAGE PERIODE

open access: yesPastura: Journal of Tropical Forage Science, 2019
The study aimed to determine invitro digestibility, volattyle fatty acid (VFA) and ammonia (NH3) of corn straw silage with different storage periode. The experiments use a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and each treatment was ...

In situ digestion of canola protein gel observed by synchrotron X-Ray Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We address the issue of structure changes of a canola protein gel (as a solid food model) during gastrointestinal digestion. We present a method for synchrotron Small-Angle X-ray Scattering analysis of the digestion of a gel in a capillary. Scanning the capillary allows tracking the digestion under diffusion of enzymatic juices.
