Enrichment of hepatic glycogen and plasma glucose from H₂18O informs gluconeogenic and indirect pathway fluxes in naturally feeding mice

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 36, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
18O‐enrichment of liver glycogen, triglyceride glycerol, and blood glucose of mice given 18O‐water during overnight feeding was quantified by 13C NMR and MS. Glycogen 18O‐enrichment of oxygens 3, 5, and 6 from isotope‐shifted 13C signals informed indirect pathway contributions from different sources.

Effect of Lime Pretreatment on Microstructure of Cassava Stalk Fibers and Growth of Aspergillus niger

open access: yesBiosaintifika: Journal of Biology & Biology Education, 2018
Cassava stalk can be converted into sugar-based product by using microorganism. Unfortunately, lignin act as a barrier of optimal bioconversion. Cassava stalk needs pretreatment process for removing this barrier.

On the safety of Aspergillus niger - a review

open access: yesApplied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2002
Aspergillus niger is one of the most important microorganisms used in biotechnology. It has been in use already for many decades to produce extracellular (food) enzymes and citric acid. In fact, citric acid and many A. niger enzymes are considered GRAS by the United States Food and Drug Administration. In addition, A.

Thick‐Film Carbon Electrode Deposited onto a Biodegradable Fibroin Substrate for Biosensing Applications

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 219, Issue 23, December 2022., 2022
A biocompatible screen‐printed carbon electrode deposited onto a biocompatible and biodegradable fibroin substrate is functionalized as a glucose biosensor with the enzyme glucose oxidase. The carbon electrode is fabricated by means of thick‐film technology including a curing step to solidify the carbon paste. The glucose biosensing behavior is studied
