Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Modelling the Full-Length Inactive PKC-δ Structure to Explore Regulatory Accessibility and Selective Targeting Opportunities [PDF]
Background/Objectives: Protein kinase C-δ (PKC-δ) is a pivotal regulator of cellular signalling, and its dysregulation contributes to oncogenesis. While certain isolated PKC-δ domains have been crystallised, the full-length architecture and interdomain ...

The Δ/Δ/Δ/Δ mutant is avirulent in a mouse model of systemic candidiasis. [PDF]
(A) 2.5 x 105C albicans cells were injected via the tail vein into 8-week old female Balb/c mice. Fourteen mice were injected with the wild type control strain LLF100, and 8 mice each were injected with either the Δ/Δ/Δ/Δ strain LLF060 or the ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Measurements of the time-jitter of coherent terahertz synchrotron radiation with a superconducting detector [PDF]
We have applied an ultrafast superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) detector to study the time jitter of the propagating electron bunches in a synchrotron. The jitter was determined from the coherent terahertz (THz) synchrotron radiation (CSR)

Plato's concept of ἀνάμνησις in the Phaidon

Observation of the Ïð3686ß decays into Σ+ Σ - Ï and Σ+ Σ - Ï
Based on (2712.4 +/- 14.3) x 106 events recorded at the psi(3686) nominal mass collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, the psi(3686) -> E +/- E over bar -omega and E +/- E over bar -phi decays are observed for the first time with statistical significances of 13.8 sigma and 7.6 sigma, respectively.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
