Explaining regulatory change in the European Union: The role of the financial crisis in ratcheting up of risk regulation 解析欧盟的监管变革:金融危机在逐步加强风险监管一事中的作用 Explicando el cambio regulatorio en la Unión Europea: el papel de la crisis financiera en el aumento de la regulación del riesgo

open access: yesRisk, Hazards &Crisis in Public Policy, Volume 16, Issue 1, March 2025.
Abstract The European Union was hit by the financial crisis of 2008. The impact of this crisis, however, and the extent to which this has led to strengthening environmental, health and safety risk regulation in the EU remain open to debate. This article advances the discussion of the “ratcheting‐up” hypothesis by adding a new explanatory factor, namely

Prediction of pre‐eclampsia using maternal hemodynamic parameters at 12 + 0 to 15 + 6 weeks

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 173-182, February 2025.
ABSTRACT Objectives To compare the maternal hemodynamic profile at 12 + 0 to 15 + 6 weeks' gestation in women who subsequently developed pre‐eclampsia (PE) and those who did not, and to assess the screening performance of maternal hemodynamic parameters for PE in combination with the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) triple test, including maternal ...

Linking extinction risk to the economic and nutritional value of sharks in small‐scale fisheries

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 38, Issue 6, December 2024.
Abstract To achieve sustainable shark fisheries, it is key to understand not only the biological drivers and environmental consequences of overfishing, but also the social and economic drivers of fisher behavior. The extinction risk of sharks is highest in coastal tropical waters, where small‐scale fisheries are most prevalent.

Combined first‐trimester screening and invasive diagnostics for atypical chromosomal aberrations: Danish nationwide study of prenatal profiles and detection compared with NIPT

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 64, Issue 4, Page 470-479, October 2024.
ABSTRACT Objectives Our aim was to examine the prenatal profiles of pregnancies affected by an atypical chromosomal aberration, focusing on pathogenic copy‐number variants (pCNVs). We also wanted to quantify the performance of combined first‐trimester screening (cFTS) and a second‐trimester anomaly scan in detecting these aberrations. Finally, we aimed

Adverse perinatal outcomes are strongly associated with degree of abnormality in uterine artery Doppler pulsatility index

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 64, Issue 4, Page 504-512, October 2024.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the association between varying degrees of abnormality in the Doppler uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA‐PI) and adverse perinatal outcome. Methods This was a prospective study of women with a singleton, non‐anomalous pregnancy in whom UtA‐PI was measured universally in midpregnancy and who gave birth in Oxford ...

Use of consumer insights to inform behavior change interventions aimed at illegal pet turtle trade in China

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 38, Issue 5, October 2024.
Abstract Illegal poaching and overexploitation for the international pet trade are among the greatest threats to freshwater turtles in Southeast Asia. Expanding consumer research in China is crucial to filling knowledge gaps about the scale and structure of illegal trade and developing audience‐targeted and relevant interventions that may reduce demand

Digital inclusion and the internet of things: Convenience and the choice‐compulsion continuum

open access: yesPolicy &Internet, Volume 16, Issue 2, Page 272-293, June 2024.
Abstract The internet of things (IoT) holds forth much promise and peril. IoT promises to increase efficiencies needed to solve wicked problems like climate change. However, IoT may also reinforce existing problems such as social inequalities long associated with the digital divide.

A standard approach for including climate change responses in IUCN Red List assessments

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 38, Issue 3, June 2024.
Abstract The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List is a central tool for extinction risk monitoring and influences global biodiversity policy and action. But, to be effective, it is crucial that it consistently accounts for each driver of extinction.

Identifying predictors of translocation success in rare plant species

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 38, Issue 2, April 2024.
Abstract The fundamental goal of a rare plant translocation is to create self‐sustaining populations with the evolutionary resilience to persist in the long term. Yet, most plant translocation syntheses focus on a few factors influencing short‐term benchmarks of success (e.g., survival and reproduction).

医院获得性革兰阳性球菌血流感染病原菌分布及影响预后危险因素分析

open access: yesZhongguo shiyan zhenduanxue, 2016
