Synergistic benefit analysis of carbon sink capacity and biodiversity function of artificial ecosystems in mining reclamation sites [PDF]

open access: yes
Land reclamation in mining areas is an inevitable measure to accelerate the restoration of biodiversity, promote the transformation and development of mining areas, and realize the transformation of carbon sources into carbon sinks. There are few studies

Informing spatial conservation prioritization with species’ traits

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract New Guinea, the most botanically diverse island on the planet, is the location for one of the boldest conservation initiatives. The Manokwari Declaration aims to achieve 70% conservation designation for the Bird's Head Peninsula. This is 40% higher than the 2022 Global Biodiversity Framework target.

我国生物地理学研究进展 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009

Robust metrics for quantifying and comparing resistance and recovery in experimental studies

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 1, Page 6-14, January 2026.
Abstract Various indices have been developed to experimentally quantify resistance and recovery (two components of engineering resilience) in response to anthropogenic and natural disturbances. This diversity complicates the selection of appropriate metrics for comparing resilience across ecosystems and studies.

黄土丘陵区退耕坡面草地恢复与土壤物理性质空间分异特征

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2021
为了解地形对草地恢复与土壤物理性质的影响以及草地恢复与土壤物理性质之间的影响机制,因地制宜为当地生态恢复提供科学依据。选择吴起县枣庄沟小流域为研究区,对退耕坡面不同坡位草地恢复与土壤物理性质分异特征进行研究。从峁顶到沟底设置8个采样位置,在4面坡共布设128个采样点进行植被调查和土样采集,将0—40 cm土壤分0—10,10—20,20—40 cm 3层进行土壤物理性质测定,并分析其与植被分布的相关关系。结果表明:不同坡位植被分布与土壤物理性质均表现出沟缘线以上的下坡位较优,沟缘线以下的陡沟坡较差的趋势;

Aridity and grazing are associated with reduced trait complementarity and higher invasion intensity of Solanum rostratum in native plant communities

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 39, Issue 11, Page 3255-3268, November 2025.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract The biotic resistance hypothesis (BRH) of Elton posits that diverse communities are more resistant to biological invasions. While the effects of climatic stresses and human disturbances on community invasibility have been extensively studied individually, their combined

Assessing the Corn Belt as an anthropogenic barrier to migrating landbirds in the United States

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2025.
Abstract Migrating landbirds adjust their flight and stopover behaviors to efficiently cross inhospitable geographies, such as the Gulf of Mexico and the Sahara Desert. In addition to these natural barriers, birds may increasingly encounter anthropogenic barriers created by large‐scale changes in land use. One such barrier could be the Corn Belt in the
