Detection of aldehydes with 4‐amino‐5‐hydrazino‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3‐thiol as spray reagent

Lipids, 1973
AbstractA spray reagent of 4‐amino‐5‐hydrazino‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3‐thiol, 2% in aqueous 1N NaOH, was used for the detection of aldehydes on chromatograms of lipids. Purple spots are produced with aldehydes, and 1 μg of palmitaldehyde can be detected easily on thin layer chromatograms.

Synthesis and Optical Properties of New S-Derivatives of 5,5′-(1,4-Phenylene)bis(4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol) and 5,5′,5″-(Benzene-1,3,5-triyl)tris(4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol)

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2019
A simple one-pot synthetic method for novel S-alkenyl and propargyl derivatives of 5,5′-(1,4-phenylene)-bis(4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol) and 5,5′,5″-(benzene-1,3,5-triyl)tris(4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol) has been developed. Absorption and luminescence properties of the synthesized compounds have been estimated, and the fluorescence quantum yields have been

Mechanism of 4‐methyl‐1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐thiole reaction with formaldehyde. A DFT study

Journal of Physical Organic Chemistry, 2007
AbstractContrary to the typical nucleophilic substitution, occurring on the sulfur atom of 4‐methyl‐1,2,4‐ triazol‐3‐thiole, the reaction with formaldehyde leads to the formation of the NC bond rather than the SC bond. The mechanism of this reaction has been characterized theoretically.

Corrosion Inhibition of Copper in Seawater by 4-Amino-4H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-Thiol

Corrosion, 2012
Corrosion inhibition of copper in clean and sulfide-polluted salt water by 4-amino-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (ATATH) was investigated. Potentiodynamic and potentiostatic polarization tests were performed. The effect of temperature and sulfide concentration was addressed.

Synthesis of 5-Ferrocenyl-4-Phenyl-4H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-Thiol and Its Derivatives

Synthesis and Reactivity in Inorganic and Metal-Organic Chemistry, 1994
Abstract A ferrocenyl thiosemicarbazide was prepared by treatment of ferrocene carboxylic acid hydrazide with phenylisothiocyanate. Cyclization of the thiosemicarbazide gave the 4,5-disubstituted-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol. Alkylation of 4,5-disubstituted- 4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol with methyl iodide and propyl iodide as alkylating agents led to its ...

Syntheses of some novel and symmetrical bis(4-amino-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols)

Journal of Sulfur Chemistry, 2012
A series of bis(4-amino-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols) 3a–e were prepared by condensation reactions of 2,2′-(phenylmethylene)bis(sulfanediyl)diacetic acids 2a–e with thiocarbohydrazide. The starting diacid 2a–e was prepared by reactions of aromatic aldehydes 1a–e with 2-mercaptoacetic acid.
