Nervous system deletion of PGC-1α recapitulates the behavioral and neurodegenerative phenotype of PGC-1α −/− mice.

open access: yes, 2013
Nervous system conditional knockout (cKO) of PGC-1α was mediated by crossing PGC-1αfl/fl mice with mice expressing cre recombinase driven by the nestin promoter. A.

Neutralization of the PTX3/CD44 axis suppresses TGF‐β1 signaling in kidney fibrosis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study investigates how the PTX3/CD44 axis promotes kidney fibrosis by activating TGF‐β1 signaling. We demonstrate that the neutralizing antibody WHC‐001 effectively inhibits this pathway, suppressing myofibroblast activation and partial epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT).

Inhibition of dipeptidyl peptidase 7 impairs lysophagy in LLOMe‐treated HepG2 cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
DPP7 inhibition delays ubiquitin‐dependent lysophagy by attenuating ubiquitin accumulation and the recruitment of SQSTM1 and LC3 to damaged lysosomes, resulting in delayed clearance of damaged lysosomes and impaired restoration of lysosomal homeostasis. Created using FigureLabs (Certificate ID: FL‐PUB‐20260922‐Z99XNX).

DNA ligase LigE increases bacterial transformation with damaged extracellular DNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The DNA ligase LigE from the naturally competent Gram‐negative bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoaea increases transformation with cut extracellular DNA. This process is ATP‐dependent and relies on the catalytic activity of LigE; it also requires that LigE contains an intact periplasmic localisation sequence, indicating that ligE functions in the periplasm ...

PGC-1α mRNA levels in skeletal muscle, by RT-qPCR, after rotarod exercise.

open access: yes, 2015
(A) Schematic diagram of PGC-1α isoforms examined in this study. PGC-1α-a is expressed from one promoter, whereas PGC-1α-b and PGC-1α-c are both expressed from the same promoter.

Going viral − Virus‐targeting nanobodies for research, diagnostics and therapy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The increasing prevalence of viral diseases represents a major threat for global human health. Nanobodies, small binding fragments derived from camelid heavy‐chain antibodies, offer versatile tools for viral research, diagnostics, and antiviral therapy.
