The Stereochemical Analysis of Monohydroxyfatty Acids, Particularly 12-Hydroxy-5,8,10,14-Eicosatetraenoic Acid

1988
Monohydroxy acids are major lipoxygenase-like metabolites in extracts from the skin of psoriatic patients. An interest in the origin and therefore mechanism of formation of these compounds stimulated investigation of their stereochemistry. Chiral methods using HPLC have been developed for separation and quantification of the hydroxyl enantiomers as ...

Increased activity and stimulability of psoriatic epidermal soluble guanylate cyclase by arachidonic acid and 12-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid.

Advances in cyclic nucleotide research, 1980
Soluble guanylate cyclase activity was measured in normal and psoriatic human epidermis. The specific activity of guanylate cyclase was determined to be increased 10-fold and 3-fold in involved and uninvolved epidermis of psoriatics, respectively, compared with normal epidermis.
