Abstract We represent the case of a 61-year-old man with atypical carcinoid tumor of the lung. On posttherapy 177Lu-DOTATATE whole-body scan, focal intense uptake in the inferomedial side of the liver was detected. Pretherapy 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT showed no sign of liver metastasis, and posttherapy diagnostic dynamic liver MRI is used to ...

Description of the methodology for dosimetric quantification in treatments with 177Lu-DOTATATE
Revista Española de Medicina Nuclear e Imagen Molecular (English Edition), 2021Implementation of dosimetry calculations in the daily practice of Nuclear Medicine Departments is, at this time, a controversial issue, partly due to the lack of a standardized methodology that is accepted by all interested parties (patients, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists).

Evaluation of Patient Transmission Factor Following the Administration of 177Lu-DOTATATE
Health Physics, 2022Abstract 177Lu-DOTATATE is a radionuclide therapy that is FDA approved for the treatment of somatostatin receptor-positive gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Treatment facilities are required to determine the maximum radiation dose from such subjects to the maximally exposed member of the public ...

Incidental Muscle Uptake of 177Lu-DOTATATE in Peripheral Vascular Disease
Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, 2021Somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-based imaging and therapy has emerged as well-established modality in neuroendocrine tumors. However, its role in inflammation imaging is still evolving. We present a 48-year-old male with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor who underwent lutetium-177-based somatostatin receptor-based therapy.

Increased 177Lu-DOTATATE Uptake in Paget Disease
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2013A 45-year-old female patient was referred for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy of liver metastases of neuroendocrine origin; the patient had undergone 2 years earlier surgical resection of a grade 2 neuroendocrine neoplasm of ampulla of Vater infiltrating the duodenal submucosa and muscular layers and the neighboring pancreatic tissue.

Rapid Progression After 177Lu-DOTATATE in Patients With Neuroendocrine Tumors
Pancreas, 2021Abstract Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) is a treatment option for somatostatin receptor–positive, unresectable or metastatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Despite high disease control rates seen with PRRT, a subset of the NET population seems to have a short progression-free interval.

Hepatopulmonary Shunt Reduction With 177Lu-DOTATATE Therapy
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2016A 72-year-old man was diagnosed with well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor of unknown primary with liver metastasis. All liver lesions were detectable only on Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT and were negative on F-FDG PET/CT. Intrahepatic Y radioembolization therapy was planned, but the hepatopulmonary shunt fraction was found to be 31.6%.
