Integrated Visible Light and Oxidant Protection Through Multifunctional Sunscreens

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy visible radiation (HEVR), although less energetic than UV light, penetrates deeper into the skin and contributes to photoaging, pigmentation disorders, and oxidative stress. The development of new HEVR‐targeted filters, therefore, represents not only a scientific challenge but also a pressing public health and cosmetic industry need.

Mono thiomalonates as thioester enolate equivalents - organocatalytic stereoselective addition reactions to different electrophiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Thioesters naturally occur as building blocks for the in vivo synthesis of biologically active compounds. Thioester-containing molecules are the equivalents of activated carboxylic acid and can undergo to a wide range of modifications.

3,4-Dihydro-3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-(nitromethyl)quinazolin-2(1H)-one

open access: yesMolbank, 2015
A one-pot, direct synthesis of 3,4-dihydro-3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-(nitromethyl)quinazolin-2(1H)-one from o-formylphenyl N-methylcarbamate, ethanolamine and nitromethane in AcOH is reported.

Quantitative analysis of norfloxacin by 1H NMR and HPLC.

open access: yesActa poloniae pharmaceutica, 2012
1H NMR and developed previously HPLC methods were applied to quantitative determination of norfloxacin in veterinary solution form for pigeon. Changes in concentration can lead to significant changes in the 1H chemical shifts of non-exchangeable aromatic protons as a result of extensive self-association phenomena.

A Systematic Study of GelMA‐Carbopol Bioinks for High‐Fidelity Extrusion 3D Bioprinting at Physiological Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Gonzalez Martinez and collaborators develop a strategy to formulate high performance GelMA‐based bioinks with low solids contents. The resulting bioinks enable 3D bioprinting at 37 °C of high‐fidelity structures with tunable mechanical properties that support high cell viability and function.

NMR characterization of foldedness for the production of E3 RING domains

open access: yes, 2010
We summarize the use of NMR spectroscopy in the production and the screening of stability and foldedness of protein domains, and apply it to the RING domains of E3 ubiquitin-ligases.
