Direct metalation of heteroaromatic esters and nitriles using a mixed lithium-cadmium base. Subsequent conversion to dipyridopyrimidinones. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceAll pyridine nitriles and esters were metalated at the position next to the directing group using (TMP)(3)CdLi in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature.

Synthesis and applications of fused N- and O-heterocyclic systems from nitrodienic building-blocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
N-containing and O-containing heterocycles are widely distributed in natural products essential for life and are often responsible for the pharmaceutical activity of a lot of drugs and lead-compounds. Exploiting the electrophilic nature of functionalized

A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

Structural systematic studies and conformational analyses of a 3x3 isomer grid of fluoro-N-(pyridyl)benzamides; physicochemical correlations, polymorphism and isomorphous relationships [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The effect of fluorine and pyridine N atom substitution patterns on molecular structure and conformation is probed in a 3 3 isomer grid (Scheme 1) of fluoro-N-(pyridyl)benzamides (Fxx) (C12H9N2OF, x = para-/meta-/ortho-) to evaluate and correlate ...

Structural systematics and conformational analyses of a 3x3 isomer grid of fluoro-N-(pyridyl)benzamides: physicochemical correlations, polymorphism and isomorphous relationships [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
An isomer grid of nine fluoro-N-(pyridyl)benzamides (Fxx) (x = para-/meta-/ortho-) has been examined to correlate structural relationships between the experimental crystal structure and ab initio calculations, based on the effect of fluorine (Fx) and

Respiratory‐Limbic Coupling via a Thalamic Circuit Alleviates Anxiety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study delineates a conserved preBötCGlu→PVT→CeA circuit that gates anxiety and respiration. Activation of this circuit is anxiolytic and respiratory‐stabilizing, while its inhibition has the opposite effect. Mechanistically, PVT exerts its anxiolytic action via a disinhibitory microcircuit: its inputs preferentially target CeL GABAergic neurons ...

Exploration of the Chemistry and Biological Properties of Pyrimidine as a Privilege Pharmacophore in Therapeutics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The pyrimidine moiety is one of the most widespread heterocycles in biologically occurring compounds, such as nucleic acids components (uracil, thymine and cytosine) and vitamin B1.

Brain‐Adhesive Bioelectronics With Shape‐Morphable and Biodegradable Properties for Stable Brain Signal Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A brain‐adhesive sensor (B‐Sensor) was developed by integrating a self‐healing biodegradable elastomer, a tissue‐adhesive hydrogel, and molybdenum electrodes. The B‐Sensor adheres to brain tissue, conforms to cortical curvatures, and maintains stable electrical performance over the intended period for reliable recording of spatiotemporal brain activity

Deep Eutectic Solvents: The Organic Reaction Medium of the Century [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This microreview summarizes the use of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and related melts in organic synthesis. Solvents of this type combine the great advantages of other proposed environmentally benign alternative solvents, such as low toxicity, high ...
