Thermal Degradation Rate and Kinetic Modeling of CO2‑Loaded Amine Solvent Blends of 2‑Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol and 1‑Amino-2-propanol

open access: yes, 2019
Power-law rate equations for the thermal degradation of 1-amino-2-propanol (A2P) and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) in CO2-loaded blended solutions are determined with the experimental kinetic data collected in this study.

Esterification of stearic acid with lower monohydroxylic alcohols [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2018
Esters play a significant role in everyday life but also in the chemical industry. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of different parameters on the process of esterification of higher monocarboxylic acids with lower monohydroxylic ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Vapor Pressure Measurement and Correlation or Prediction for Water, 1-Propanol, 2-Propanol, and Their Binary Mixtures with [MMIM][DMP] Ionic Liquid

open access: yes, 2010
This work presents vapor pressure data for water, 1-propanol, and 2-propanol as well as their binary mixtures in the presence of ionic liquid (IL) 1,3-dimethylimidazolium dimethylphosphate ([MMIM][DMP]) at different temperatures and IL content ranging ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Experimental Evaluation of Synthetic n-Propanol in a Dual-Fuel Engine and Modeling of Its Renewable Electrochemical Production from CO2

open access: yesEnergies
The use of synthetic fuels produced from CO2 requires efficient production technologies and evaluation of their application in energy systems. This study combines experimental tests of a dual-fuel engine powered by n-propanol and diesel fuel with ...

Thermodynamic and Mass-Transfer Modeling of Carbon Dioxide Absorption into Aqueous 2‑Amino-2-Methyl-1-Propanol

open access: yes, 2016
Explanations for the mass-transfer behavior of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) are conflicting, despite extensive study of the amine for CO2 capture. At equilibrium, aqueous AMP reacts with CO2 to give bicarbonate in a 1:1 ratio.
