An overview of synthesis and biological activities of 2-pyridone derivatives over the last decade
2-Pyridone frameworks are a pervasive member of the N-heterocyclic family of both chemical and therapeutic interest. 2-Pyridones and their bridged analogues have wide occurrences in nature and the presence of both aromatic and amide groups in the ...

Binuclear Copper‐Dependent Oxidative Enzymes Involved in Fungal Natural Product Modifications
This article summarizes recent biochemical characterizations of a new enzyme family named by the authors as binuclear copper‐dependent oxidative enzymes (BiNCOs). Found in fungal natural product biosynthesis, BiNCOs catalyze diverse CH functionalization reactions, including C(sp3)H halogenation, C(sp3)H hydroxylation, C(sp3)O macrocyclization, and ...

Ultrafast Decay Dynamics of the 21ππ* Electronic State of N‑Methyl-2-pyridone
The ultrafast decay dynamics of N-methyl-2-pyridone upon excitation in the near-ultraviolet range of 261.5–227.9 nm is investigated using the femtosecond time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy method.

Genetic encoding of noncanonical amino acids (ncAA) enables their site‐specific installation in proteins. This work compares the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) performance of different ncAAs in a large protein−DNA complex (~ 100 kDa) without isotope labelling. The ncAAs deliver readily detectable NMR signals in the complex between E.

Recent Approaches for the Synthesis of Pyridine and Quinoline Cores Present in Natural Products
An anthology of the most recent methods used to synthesize pyridines and quinolines found in natural products over the last decade. Pyridines, quinolines, and their derivatives represent a class of significant heterocyclic compounds that are prevalent in a multitude of natural products, including alkaloids found in plants, fungi, insects, marine ...

Biological evaluation of pyridone alkaloids on the endocannabinoid system [PDF]
Naturally occurring pyridone alkaloids as well as synthetic derivatives were previously shown to induce neurite outgrowth. However, the molecular basis for this biological effect remains poorly understood.

Perchloratobis[1-(1,10-phenanthrolin-2-yl)-2-pyridone]zinc(II) perchlorate
In the title mononuclear complex, [Zn(ClO4)(C17H11N3O)2]ClO4, the ZnII ion is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry. The dihedral angles between the pyridine rings and the mean planes of the 1,10-phenanthroline ring system in each of the 1-(1,10-

This study systematically compares the degradation efficiency of CIP in a H2O2‐alone system and a novel Bi12FeO20‐H2O2 photo‐Fenton system. It reveals for the first time the presence of a quinone‐imine intermediate in the H2O2‐alone system, which exhibits toxicity comparable to CIP.

ABSTRACT NASICON‐type Na4VMn(PO4)3 (NVMP) is a promising high‐capacity cathode for sodium‐ion batteries, yet its practical deployment is hindered by Mn3+‐driven lattice distortion, persistent oxygen vacancy defects, and sluggish Na+ transport, collectively resulting in accelerated performance degradation.
