Harnessing Small‐Data Machine Learning for Transformative Mental Health Forecasting: Towards Precision Psychiatry With Personalised Digital Phenotyping

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
Small‐data machine learning models (e.g., TabPFN, GPs) harness sparse digital phenotyping streams from wearables and smartphones to forecast individualized mental health trajectories, enabling proactive interventions through uncertainty‐aware predictions and closed‐loop clinical integration. ABSTRACT Advances in digital phenotyping have opened the door

Almost flat bundles and homological invariance of infinite K-area

open access: yes, 2018
We extend the notion of an almost flat bundle over a closed Riemannian manifold to bundles over simplicial complexes, and prove that up to a constant factor, this notion is invariant under pullback via maps which induce isomorphisms on fundamental groups.

Natural Peptides Versus Semaglutide: A Safer Approach to Obesity Management

open access: yesMedicine Advances, EarlyView.
This paper highlights that while semaglutide is effective for weight loss, it is associated with significant side effects, high cost, and muscle loss. In contrast, natural peptides such as BRP, BPC‐157, and MOTS‐c demonstrate promising anti‐obesity effects with fewer adverse outcomes, improved safety profiles, and potential affordability making them ...

Physiological barriers to oral intake in survivors of critical illness: A scoping review

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Oral nutrition is the predominant mode of nutrition delivery on the post–Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward; yet, it is associated with lower intake than via enteral or parenteral nutrition. There are limited data on barriers that influence oral intake in ICU survivors.

The importance of wild meat and freshwater fish for children's nutritional intake in the Congo Basin

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Wild meat and freshwater fish are widely consumed in the Congo Basin, but in some areas, they are at risk of disappearing due to unsustainable hunting and fishing and changes in their habitat. Wild meat is also at risk of being eliminated from local diets due to potential policy changes such as wild meat bans.

Understanding smallholder decision‐making to increase farm tree diversity: Enablers and barriers for forest landscape restoration in Western Kenya

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Integrating diverse trees and shrubs (hereafter ‘trees’) in agricultural landscapes has emerged as a crucial nature‐based solution to the triple challenge of biodiversity loss, climate change and food security. The potential benefits of on‐farm trees for both people and nature, however, are often constrained by inadequate consideration of ...
