Gestational Vitamin D3 Supplementation and Sun Exposure Significantly Influence Cord Blood Vitamin D Status and 3-Epi-25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 Levels in Term Newborns [PDF]
Background and aims. High prevalence of hypovitaminosis D is worldwide reported among pregnant women and newborns. We assessed cord blood 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 [25(OH)D3] and 3-epi-25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (C3-epimer) levels in relation to assumed maternal ...

Measurement of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in serum.
Abstract We describe a method for measuring 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in serum. Extraction with dichloromethane/methanol (2/1 by vol), followed by chromatography on a column of Sephadex LH-20, resulted in an overall analytical recovery of 82% +/- 3.5% (SD).

1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 and development of tuberculosis in cattle [PDF]
This report describes the presence and activity of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25-D3) in experimental bovine tuberculosis. Animals that went on to develop tuberculous lesions exhibited a rapid transient increase in serum 1,25-D3 within the first 2 weeks ...

ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a known risk factor for hypercalcemia in cats. Phosphate‐restricted diets have also been implicated in causing hypercalcemia, in part because phosphate restriction increases the Ca:P ratio. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of two different therapeutic renal foods on ionized (iCa ...

Relation between 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, apolipoprotein A-I, and high density lipoprotein cholesterol.
In a survey of cardiovascular risk factors in 185 men and 173 women of a Belgian population group, an independent and highly significant positive correlation was found between the serum concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 and apolipoprotein A-I (p ...
