New evidence on the geologic setting of Medjerda Valley plain (northern Tunisia) from integrated geophysical study of Triassic evaporite bodies

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2015
Integrated gravity, two dimensional (2D) seismic and field data (lithostratigraphy and tectonic deformations) help to understand the structural setting of the Triassic evaporites in the Atlas Mountains of northern Tunisia.

2d TQFTs and baby universes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
In this work, we extend the 2d topological gravity model of [1] to have as its bulk action any open/closed TQFT obeying Atiyah’s axioms. The holographic duals of these topological gravity models are ensembles of 1d topological theories with random ...

COSMOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS IN 2D POINCARÉ GRAVITY [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 1994
The 2D model of gravity with zweibeins ea and the Lorentz connection one-form [Formula: see text] as independent gravitational variables is considered. The solutions of classical equations of motion which can be interpreted as cosmological ones are studied.

Towards unified theory of 2d gravity [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1992
We introduce a new 1-matrix model with arbitrary potential and the matrix-valued background field. Its partition function is a $τ$-function of KP-hierarchy, subjected to a kind of ${\cal L}_{-1}$-constraint. Moreover, partition function behaves smoothly in the limit of infinitely large matrices.

Baby universes in 2d quantum gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
We investigate the fractal structure of $2d$ quantum gravity, both for pure gravity and for gravity coupled to multiple gaussian fields and for gravity coupled to Ising spins.

Relational observables in 2D quantum gravity [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2007
Local observation is an important problem both for the foundations of a quantum theory of gravity and for applications to quantum-cosmological problems such as eternal inflation. While gauge invariant local observables can't be defined, it has been argued that appropriate relational observables approximately reduce to local observables in certain ...

2D F(R) gravity and AdS

open access: yes, 2022
We studied the canonical structure of 2D F(R) gravity. Its equivalence with Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity is demonstrated when no matter is present. Then, due to AdS2/CFT1 correspondence, such F(R) gravity is equivalent to the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev models.

2D behavior of Gravity at Large Distances

open access: yes, 2023
We show that the entropy or information flow of a gravitational system constrains the dependence of gravitational force on radial distance r which for very large r is equivalent to gravity in two dimensions. This explains the "origin" of dark matter and provides a natural solution to the problem of flat rotation curves of galaxies at very large ...
