Novel optoelectronic devices : transition‐metal‐dichalcogenide‐based 2D heterostructures

open access: yes, 2018
Over the past decade, graphene and other 2D materials have attracted much attention in both fundamental studies and potential applications due to their extraordinary properties. In particular, heterostructures based on these van der Waals (vdW) materials

Interaction of excitons with magnetic topological defects in 2D magnetic monolayers [Elektronisk resurs] : localization and anomalous Hall effect

open access: yes, 2023
Novel 2D material CrI3 reveals unique combination of 2D ferromagnetism and robust excitonic response. We demonstrate that the possibility of the formation of magnetic topological defects, such as Neel skyrmions, together with large excitonic Zeeman ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Edge-Driven Phase Transitions in 2D Ice

open access: yes, 2022
2D water, confined by atomically flat layered materials, may transit into various crystalline phases even at room temperature. However, to gain full control over the crystalline state, we should not only confine water in the out of plane direction but ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Localized emission from laser-irradiated defects in 2D hexagonal boron nitride

open access: yes, 2017
Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) has emerged as a promising two-dimensional (2D) material for photonics device due to its large bandgap and flexibility in nanophotonic circuits.
