Proteomic profile of Piper tuberculatum (Piperaceae)

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2017
Piper tuberculatum (Piperaceae) is a species that accumulates especially amides as secondary metabolites and several biological activities was previously reported. In this article, we report a proteomic study of P. tuberculatum.

A PRELIMINARY STUDY: COMPARATIVE PROTEOMIC PROFILING OF BREAST CANCER TISSUE AND METASTATIC AXILLARY LYMPH NODE

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Breast Health, 2013
Objective:Breast cancer remains one of the most common malignancies affecting women. In breast cancer, axillary lymph node (ALN) involvement is a useful clinical parameter for decision-making.

Simplified Two-Dimensional Generalized Partial Response Target of Holographic Data Storage Channel

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
With a high capacity and fast data access rate, holographic data storage (HDS) is a potential candidate for future storage systems. However, for page-oriented data processing, two-dimensional (2D) interference appears intensely in the HDS systems ...

Initial intracellular proteome profile of Aspergillus niger biofilms

open access: yesRevista Peruana de Biología, 2011
An initial profiling of the intracellular proteome of Aspergillus niger ATCC 10864 biofilm cultures developed on polyester cloth was carried out by using 2D-PAGE and MS-TOF analysis and it was compared to the proteome of conventionally grown free-living ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Digit ratio (2D:4D) and male facial attractiveness: New data and a meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Digit ratio (2D:4D) appears to correlate negatively with prenatal testosterone (T) effects in humans. As T probably increases facial masculinity, which in turn might be positively related to male facial attractiveness, a number of studies have looked ...

Microgels and apparatus for PAGE of nucleic acids in one or two dimensions

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2018
We describe a system for horizontal 1D or 2D PAGE comprising an apparatus and microgels. There is no buffer outside the gel, making handling and sample loading easy.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

On global regularity of 2D generalized magnetohydrodynamic equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this article we study the global regularity of 2D generalized magnetohydrodynamic equations (2D GMHD), in which the dissipation terms are –ν(–Δ)αu and –κ(–Δ)βb. We show that smooth solutions are global in the following three cases: α≥1/2, β≥1; 0≤α≤1/2,
