Characterization of untranslated regions of the salmonid alphavirus 3 (SAV3) genome and construction of a SAV3 based replicon

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2009
Salmonid alphavirus (SAV) causes disease in farmed salmonid fish and is divided into different genetic subtypes (SAV1-6). Here we report the cloning and characterization of the 5'- and 3'- untranslated regions (UTR) of a SAV3 isolated from Atlantic ...

Tumor‐Specific Delivery of CD28 siRNA via Lyso‐PC C‐16 Modified Lipid Nanoparticles Overcomes Anti‐PD‐1 Resistance by Remodeling Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops 16:0 LPC‐modified lipid nanoparticles (LPC‐LNPs) with cancer cell specificity by exploiting altered tumor lipid metabolism. LPC‐LNPs encapsulating Cd28 small interfering RNA (LPC‐LNP‐Cd28) knock down cancer cell CD28 without affecting T cells, inflame the tumor microenvironment, and overcome anti‐PD‐1 resistance.

Polymorphisms in the transcribed 3′ untranslated region of eukaryotic genes

open access: yesGenomics, 1991
In this review we present preliminary evidence for a new class of polymorphism that may be used in a systematic way to map cDNAs efficiently and to expedite the construction of a high-resolution genetic map of the human genome. Ultimately, transcribed 3' untranslated polymorphisms will warrant further study because they should be widely distributed ...

Analysis of cis-acting expression determinants of the tobacco psbA 5’UTR in vivo [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Chloroplast gene expression is predominantly regulated at the posttranscriptional levels of mRNA stability and translation efficiency. The expression of psbA, an important photosynthesis-related chloroplast gene, has been revealed to be regulated via its

A Biomimetic Dual‐Targeting Nano‐APA‐Editor Reprograms the 3'UTR Landscape for Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unveils a pathogenic axis in oral cancer where NUDT21 suppresses a tumor suppressor network, prominently PTEN, via 3'UTR lengthening. To exploit this transcriptomic vulnerability, we developed a biomimetic Nano‐APA‐editor. By delivering CRISPR/Cas9, we reprogrammed the global 3'UTR landscape, restoring multi‐target tumor suppression and ...

AND‐Logic‐Gated Aptamer Switch for Precise Targeting and Regulation of RNA G‐Quadruplexes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An AND‐logic‐gated aptamer switch enables tumor‐selective activation of RNA G‐quadruplex (rG4)‐targeting function. By combining cell‐surface recognition and intracellular redox sensing, the system achieves precise regulation of disease‐relevant RNA structures exclusively in tumor cells, with minimal off‐target effects in normal cells, offering a ...

A hepatitis C virus cis-acting replication element forms a long-range RNA-RNA interaction with upstream RNA sequences in NS5B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The genome of hepatitis C virus (HCV) contains cis-acting replication elements (CREs) comprised of RNA stem-loop structures located in both the 5' and 3' non-coding regions (NCR), and in the NS5B coding sequence.

RNA‐Binding Protein RBM25 Targets the mRNA Stability of GTPase Rab22a to Restrict Viral Entry and Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies RNA‐binding protein RBM25 as a broad‐spectrum antiviral factor acting independently of type I interferon. It blocks viral entry by suppressing GTPase Rab22a via the RC3H1‐mediated destabilization of Rab22a mRNA. Viral downregulation of RBM25 enhances GTPase Rab22a expression and viral entry, revealing an unreported post ...

The untranslated regions of eukaryotic mRNAs: structure, function, evolution and bioinformatic tools for their analysis

open access: yes, 2000
The crucial role of the non-coding portion of genomes is now widely acknowledged. In particular, mRNA untranslated regions are involved in many post-transcriptional regulatory pathways that control mRNA localisation, stability and translation efficiency.

Experimental characterization of Cis-acting elements important for translation and transcription in Halophilic Archaea

open access: yes, 2007
Summary The basal transcription apparatus of archaea is well characterized. However, much less is known about the mechanisms of transcription termination and translation initation.
