Conserved structures among the nucleocapsid proteins of the paramyxoviridae: Complete nucleotide sequence of human parainfluenza virus type 3 NP mRNA

Virology, 1986
The nucleotide sequence of the mRNA coding for the nucleocapsid protein (NP) of the paramyxovirus, human parainfluenza virus type 3 (PIV-3), has been determined. The NP mRNA was found to contain 1642 bases, excluding poly(A), and encode a protein of 515 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 57,823.

Cr(OH)3-NPs-CNC hybrid nanocomposite: a sorbent for adsorptive removal of methylene blue and malachite green from solutions

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2017
In this article, Cr(OH)3 nanoparticle-modified cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) as a novel hybrid nanocomposite (Cr(OH)3-NPs-CNC) was prepared by a simple procedure and used as a sorbent for adsorptive removal of methylene blue (MB) and malachite green (MG) from aqueous solution.

Succinobucol versus probucol: Higher efficiency of succinobucol in mitigating 3-NP-induced brain mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress in vitro

Mitochondrion, 2013
This study evaluated and compared the potential protective effects of probucol and succinobucol, two lipid-lowering compounds with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, on oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction induced by 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP, a succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) inhibitor largely used as model of Huntington's disease)

Oxytocin protects against 3-NP induced learning and memory impairment in rats: Sex differences in behavioral and molecular responses to the context of prenatal stress

Behavioural Brain Research, 2020
Learning and memory impairment manifests years before the onset of motor impairments in Huntington's disease (HD). Oxytocin (OXT), as a neurohypophyseal neuropeptide has a key role in both learning and memory. Hence, we investigated possible protective effect of OXT on instrumental fear conditioning memory impairment by 3-Nitropropionic acid (3-NP ...

Protective effect of minocycline, a semi-synthetic second-generation tetracycline against 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP)-induced neurotoxicity

Toxicology, 2008
3-Nitropropionic acid (3-NP) is an irreversible inhibitor of the electron transport enzyme succinate dehydrogenase, a mitochondrial Complex II enzyme. Minocycline is a semi-synthetic second-generation tetracycline with neuroprotective activity and has the capability to effectively cross the blood-brain barrier.

Neuroprotective Effect of Boswellia serrata against 3-NP Induced Experimental Huntington’s Disease

Current Bioactive Compounds
Objectives: The study aimed to assess the neuroprotective effect of Boswellia serrata against 3-NP-induced experimental Huntington’s disease. Background: Previous studies have shown Boswellia to have sedative, analgesic, and anti-tumour effects. Boswellia serrata yields four pentacyclic triterpene acids and boswellic acid, a bioactive substance that

Spermidine ameliorates 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP)-induced striatal toxicity: Possible role of oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and neurotransmitters

Physiology & Behavior, 2016
Spermidine, a naturally occurring polyamine, is involved in various internal biological functions, due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. A decreased level of polyamines is associated with aging and neurodegenerative disorders including Huntington disease (HD).

Antioxidant and antiapoptotic actions of selegiline protect against 3-NP-induced neurotoxicity in rats.

Naunyn-Schmiedeberg's archives of pharmacology, 2018
The present study was designed to investigate the neuroprotective effect of selegiline on 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP)-induced neurotoxicity. Selegiline was intraperitoneally injected at doses 2.5, 5, and 10 mg/kg, 3 days prior to and continued daily, 30 min before 3-NP administration. 3-NP (20 mg/kg, i.p.) was administered for four consecutive days. 3-

Syntheses and characterization of thallium(I) complexes with 3-nitrophenoxide [Tl(3-np)], 4-nitrobenzoate [Tl(4-nb)] and 2,4-dinitrophenoxide [Tl(2,4-dnp)]: X-ray crystal structures of [Tl(3-np)]n and Tl(2,4-dnp) (two new polymeric compounds)

Polyhedron, 2002
Abstract Complexes thallium(I)3-nitrophenoxide [Tl(3-np)], thallium(I)2,4-dinitrophenoxide [Tl(2,4-dnp)] and thallium(I)4-nitrobenzoate [Tl(4-nb)] have been synthesized using a direct reaction between TlNO 3 and the appropriate ligand. The complexes have been isolated and characterized by IR spectra and CHN elemental analyses.

ADIOL protects against 3-NP-induced neurotoxicity in rats: Possible impact of its anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic actions

Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, 2015
Huntington's disease (HD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with a wide spectrum of cognitive, behavioral and motor abnormalities. The mitochondrial toxin 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP) effectively induces specific behavioral changes and selective striatal lesions similar to that observed in HD.
