Stock index futures trading impact on spot price volatility. The CSI 300 studied with a TGARCH model [PDF]

open access: yesExpert Systems with Applications 160 (2020) 113688, 2021
A TGARCH modeling is argued to be the optimal basis for investigating the impact of index futures trading on spot price variability. We discuss the CSI-300 index (China-Shanghai-Shenzhen-300-Stock Index) as a test case. The results prove that the introduction of CSI-300 index futures (CSI-300-IF) trading significantly reduces the volatility in the ...

SMITH AT 300: THE DIGNITY OF TRADE

open access: yesJournal of the History of Economic Thought, 2023
“It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our necessities but of their advantages.”WN I.ii ...

NGC 300 ULX1: A new ULX pulsar in NGC 300 [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2018
Abstract. NGC 300 ULX1 is the fourth to be discovered in the class of the ultra-luminous X-ray pulsars. Pulsations from NGC 300 ULX1 were discovered during simultaneous XMM-Newton / NuSTAR observations in Dec. 2016. The period decreased from 31.71 s to 31.54 s within a few days, with a spin-up rate of –5.56×10–7 s s–1, likely one of the largest ever ...

CRYOHAEMORRHOIDECTOMY A REVIEW OF 300 CASES [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Journal Armed Forces India, 1997
Three hundred patients, comprising of 210 men and 90 women, with internal haemorrhoids (grade I and II) were subjected to cryosurgery. There was good destruction of piles in 270 (90%) patients while in 30 (10%) patients residual pile mass was present requiring further treatment The result was compared with 100 patients of grade II haemorrhoids who ...

Sub-THz Channel Measurements at 158 GHz and 300 GHz in a Street Canyon Environment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This paper presents first results of a channel measurement campaign performed in an urban micro (UMi) street canyon scenario at 158 GHz and 300 GHz.

Room-Temperature Structures of Solid Hydrogen at High Pressures [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Phys. 137, 074501 (2012), 2012
By employing first-principles metadynamics simulations, we explore the 300 K structures of solid hydrogen over the pressure range 150-300 GPa. At 200 GPa, we find the ambient-pressure disordered hexagonal close-packed (hcp) phase transited into an insulating partially ordered hcp phase (po-hcp), a mixture of ordered graphene-like H2 layers and the ...

Imaging at 300 MHz With the MWA [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
At relatively high frequencies, highly sensitive grating sidelobes occur in the primary beam patterns of low frequency aperture arrays (LFAA) such as the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA). This occurs when the observing wavelength becomes comparable to the dipole separation for LFAA tiles, which for the MWA occurs at approximately 300 MHz.

Electronic Transport through YBCO Grain Boundary Interfaces between 4.2 K and 300 K [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 92, 257003 (2004), 2003
The current-induced dissipation in YBCO grain boundary tunnel junctions has been measured between 4.2 K and 300 K. It is found that the resistance of 45 degree (100)/(110) junctions decreases linearly by a factor of four when their temperature is increased from 100 K to 300 K.

Electrical and Thermal Transport of Layered Bismuth-chalcogenide EuBiS2F at temperatures between 300 and 623 K [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 84, 085003 (2015), 2015
We demonstrate the electrical and thermal transport of layered bismuth-based sulfide EuBiS2F from 300 to 623 K. Although significant hybridization between Eu 4f and Bi 6p electrons was reported previously, the carrier transport of the compound is similar to those of F-doped LaBiS2O, at least above 300 K.

On the optical counterpart of NGC300 X-1 and the global Wolf-Rayet content of NGC300 [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 469, L31 (2007), 2007
(Conext:) Surveys of Wolf-Rayet (WR) populations in nearby galaxies provide tests of evolutionary models plus Type Ib/c supernova progenitors. This spectroscopic study complements the recent imaging survey of the spiral galaxy NGC 300 by Schild et al. (Aims): Revisions to the known WR content of NGC 300 are presented.
