Ir Complexes With Mixed‐Valent Bidentate Ligands: From Complex Synthesis to Catalytic Application

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The bidentate ligands Ph2P(E)NHPPh2 (E = S, Se) feature phosphorous atoms in two different oxidation states and provide the potential to tune chemical reactivity through the choice of donor E. The mononuclear complexes [Ir(COD){κ2‐P,E‐Ph2P(E)NPPh2}] (E = S 1a, Se 1b) were prepared from the dimer [IrClCOD]2 (COD = 1,5‐cyclooctadiene) and the ...

Xanthene‐Based FLPs Featuring Perchloroarylborane Substitutents: Interplay of Noncovalent Aggregation and Dihydrogen Activation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Frustrated Lewis Pairs featuring perchloroarylborane Lewis acid groups are found to display unprecedented H2 uptake as a function of temperature, resulting from the thermodynamic balance between H─H cleavage and noncovalent intermolecular aggregation.

Uncatalyzed Guanosine Phosphorylation under Potentially Prebiotic Conditions

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Pyrophosphate acts as phosphorylating agent of guanosine under simple wet‐dry cycles without condensing agent and inorganic catalysts to afford cyclic guanosine monophosphate derivatives useful for oligomerization in prebiotic processes. ABSTRACT The phosphorylation of nucleosides and their subsequent polymerization are key issues in the study of the ...

Synthesis and Reactivity of Substituted Phosphanylalanes and ‐Gallanes Stabilized by N‐Heterocyclic Carbenes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A series of NHC‐stabilized phosphanylalanes and phosphanylgallanes bearing alkyl and aryl substituents at phosphorus was synthesized and characterized. Structural and computational studies reveal how substitution influences E13─P bonding and phosphorus donor properties, while reactions with BH3 demonstrate the accessibility of the phosphorus lone pair ...

Ligand Effect‐Inspired Scalable Synthesis and Catalytic CO2 Fixation of Cobalt Nanoclusters

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Ligand investigation uncovers a positively charged intermediate during cluster formation, which is applied for optimizing synthetic procedures and achieving large‐scale synthesis of cobalt nanoclusters. Further modification on the functional group of ligands triggers efficient nanocluster catalysis via Co–N synergy.

All‐in‐One Intelligent Hemostatic Sponge: Rapid Hemostasis for Non‐Compressive Wounds With Synergetic Enhanced Antibacterial Efficacy and Self‐Reporting Biodegradation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Clinicians often concurrently tackle critical challenges including emergency hemorrhage, secondary infection, and the elusive tracking of biodegradation of conventional hemostatic agents for complex wounds. Here, we report an intelligent hemostatic sponge (spCS@AIE) by incorporating aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) nanoparticles with short‐wave ...

Decorating Carbon Nitride via the Integration of Phosphorylation with Carbon Self‐doping toward Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The electron transfer from the grafted ATMP to the adjacent heptazine ring can induce the proton transfer of the hydroxyls on ATMP to Pt co‐catalyst nanoparticles. This coupling of proton transfer and electron transport also promotes the separation and transport of charge carriers and therefore advances the performance of photocatalytic hydrogen ...

Reactivity of a Soft Indium‐Based Frustrated Lewis Pair Towards Alkynes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
To bind or not to bind—The pyridine‐stabilized FLP tBu2 In(py)CH2P tBu2 forms reversible adducts with nonsymmetric alkynes and reacts with PhCCH as a “hidden” In/C‐FLP, forming a neutral indiumalkyl. The geminal pyridine stabilized frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) tBu2In(py)CH2PtBu2 (1·py) was reacted with various alkynes.

Synthesis, Structure, and Lewis Acidity of Heavy Pnictenium Cations

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A series of donor‐coordinated and donor‐free heavy pnictenium cations were synthesized and structurally characterized. The cations are strong Lewis acids according to experimental (Gutmann–Beckett method) and computational studies (FIAs). Strained pnictanes L1PnNaph (Pn = Sb 1, Bi 2; L1 = 2,6‐(2,4,6‐i‐Pr3C6H2)2C6H3) were synthesized and protonation ...

Cationic‐Hydrophilic Di‐Block Copolymers: Surface‐Shielded Vectors for Gene Delivery

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1419-1432, 15 March 2025.
This study develops synthetic polycationic di‐block carriers for nucleic acid (NA) delivery in gene therapy. Consisting of a cationic block and a hydrophilic block, these carriers efficiently form complexes with NAs and shield them with a protective bioinert layer, enhancing stability during circulation in the bloodstream while reducing undesirable ...
